...besides our collective appreciation of Civ 3...and other video games?

Any spare time i get (away from civ) I spend playing guitar. Been a musician since i was 8..starting on the Trumpet. Guitar since I was 12. Often, I'll pick the the guitar next to my computer as I wait and watch the computer take its turns.

I am/was also a Musician. I have played Saxaphone for 24 years and I was pretty good at one point. I mainly play/ed Jazz.

I also love to hike and Mountainbike.

Life is full of hobbies, I just love to do whatever it takes to enjoy life to it's fullest:)

My interests right now are sports and weightlifting. I'm planning on being in track in college this next year. My other great hobby would of course have to be sleeeepy time

Good to see other Jazz musicians :) I was a trombonist when I have the time to practise for an hour a day to keep my body in shape! These days I wave my guitar around like a dead fish.

I enjoy playing basketball, studying linguistics, practicing/learning more Romance Languages, reading, building/fixing computers for friends (and myself), playing the acoustic guitar, church-related activities, and driving/pampering my Porsche. These, of course, are in addition to my dying devotion to Civ 3 and CFC. :crazyeye:

I play the flute (about 18 years, mainly in church) and the piano (about 2 years, regularly play my digital piano at home, played in church a couple of times when our pianist has been away).

I'm a football (otherwise known as soccer in places where they don't know what real football is:)) near-addict, supporting Spurs in the English Premier League and playing in a 6-aside league.

Enjoy hiking, going away for weekends in the British Isles with my mates, and 1 longer hiking holiday a year that we call "Dosser's" because we're pretty laid back about it, not taking it anywhere near as seriously as many of the others we meet.

I do a lot of reading, mostly science fiction/fantasy, some detective/thriller. I used to read a lot when I was a kid, stopped when I became too old for such childish things:), then started again when I broke my arm playing football (when I was 22) and needed something to occupy the train journeys. I used to average 2 books a week before my CIV addiction!

Football :) Sunderland is my team. Yeah, go ahead laugh, Dianthus. I've been laughed at all year...
Play the guitar and also some piano. I think I posted a comprehensive list of what other games I play in the other thread :)

I like photography. Here is a sample of the rose I took last week from my Canon D60 digital camera:

You have to be a real supporter to support an unsuccessful team :). I've got a friend at work who's a real supporter, he supports Oxford United. Goes to every game, home and away.

Moonsinger,
those are very good! Did you resize them for the forum? ...if the originals were bigger (say 1024x768 or larger), I wouldn't mind using them as desktop wallpaper. I've always used photography of flowers for my wallpaper...nice and serene...

Beautiful photos, Moonsinger.

I like photography too -I have an old SLR Minolta (well, two actually) with a lens complement that has grown to the capacity of my wallet... No digital for me.
I also like hiking a lot, so when I have some spare time (not too often, lately) I load my pack, wear my camera bags and go for one or two-days "photographic treks".
I must have some pictures somewhere, although most of them are on slide and it takes ages to scan them...

What else... Civ3! Travelling (at least, with my mind!).

And well, the usual things. sleeping, drinking and eating well. Reading, having fun with friends... you know that.

travelling the world while taking pictures (which i then sell to a photo bank). best trip: japan to europe overland through uzbekistan and iran, all by bus and train. took like 4 months and was quite exciting as it was the first trip with my son (then 1 1/2 years old!)
to see some of my photos, check out the "lonely planet" travel guides of europe, north east and central asia.....
