I'd be extremely grateful to anybody who can help with this problem which is extremely annoying.

Everytime I play Civ III I notice a huge memory loss on the hard disk. I lose 10 mb after playing for a couple of minutes, over 1GB if I play for a few hours.

I tried running the game on all my pc's (I have 3 laptops) and I always get the same symptoms.

Btw, rebooting or defrag doesn't help.

Wow, this is an odd problem. My only guess would be that, because there is not enough RAM, your Windows swap file is swelling. However, it shouldn't swell up to the point of 1GB!
If, in fact, all of your computers have little RAM, you could alter the swap file settings, and make it static instead of dynamic. Maybe this would help. Good luck!

It might be worth checking you "autosaves" folder to see how much space is being consumed by old autosaves.
