View Full Version : Removing civ
Steph Jun 15, 2003, 10:07 PM when trying to remove a civ, I had a bad surprise. It was all mixed in the unit tab of the editor afterward, as if removing a civ just offset by one line all the association. So if a units was available to celts but not Ottomans nor Arabia, at the end and was available to Arabia, but not celts (Arabia is just after Celts).
Is there a way to remove a civ properly, without mixing the units?
Yoda Power Jun 15, 2003, 10:10 PM that sounds nasty, especially with all the units you added. I doubt there is a way to avoid this, unless you set all the units not to belong to any civ, then atleast they dont jump to another.
btw Steph you should get an avatar, it easier to find your posts when scrolling down pages and such;)
sween32 Jun 15, 2003, 10:22 PM the safest way that i know of is to delete and add civs before you add all those units. ;)
mrtn Jun 15, 2003, 10:28 PM In a scenario you can choose which civs are playable. Can't you just remove the Iroqouis from there? That way you only have to add things, and let the old stuff be left, untouched.
sween32 Jun 15, 2003, 10:40 PM if you do that there will be an empty space where you would chose to play as the Iro's in the civ chosing screen.

I could, but I've planed to edit the Civilopedia as well, and I'm not sure the unplayable civ are included or not in the civilopedia...
Yoda Power Jun 15, 2003, 11:37 PM they would still be included
mrtn Jun 15, 2003, 11:41 PM I think they are included, but can't you just have a civilopedia entry that says "this civ is not included in steph's mod, sorry."

 Sometimes I feel dumb :wallbash: Why can I design complex things when I can't find the simpliest idea?
BeBro Jun 16, 2003, 03:13 AM Have you tried the editorīs import/export option? Because you can specify exactly what to import.
Maybe it works when you set up a new mod, with the civs you need. Then try to import rules (inclusive units, but WITHOUT CIVS), etc. from the existing mod - maybe this works? Not sure though, but worth a try.
However, make backups before you play around....;)
