Hello everyone, especially you unit designers out there, just poppinig in from my self imposed exile to ask for some help.

I am asking for help and offering a promise. I need units for my mod, nothing new there. What’s new is that I can offer a promise that any unit used in DyP will be on the Civ3:Conquests CD. This means that none of the units can infringe on any current copyrights and all of the units must be of the highest quality.

Unfortunately some of the current animations I am using are from other games and will have to be removed from the mod. In addition there are a bunch of units that I still need. Here is a list of units I need animations for:

I know some of these are currently in production while others I have been requesting for months and some others are already available but are either from other games and so cannot go on the Conquests CD and some are available but I would like to see newer versions of them. I know beggars can’t be choosers but, what the heck I figure it can’t hurt to ask. :)

Thanks for any help from anybody.

PM or email me if you have any questions on any of the units. Thanks again.

If you want them, I can contact the maker of Cossacks mod1 units to check if he is interested. That means a whole bunch of 17th and 18th century units.

Just a little remark, the CIV3 infantry, isn't that a WWI type of infantry?

And the Chinese Swordsman is made or am I wrong, perhaps not what you are looking for, same goes for the baloon... I guess you allready know which units that is available also...

And I just wan't to add, hope that someone is taking this up and will make most of these units. They should be quality units though...

A little request for any creators that pick up this, make the units as generic as possible (at least when they are supposed to be used by anyone...)

Oh, and if Firaxis is going to include this in their next game, why coulden't they produce a couple of units for you....?

Could they be copy/paste from original Firaxis units ?

In case you are interested in my grenadier you will need to ask for Smoking Mirror's approval since he is the one who made the base unit I used.

And sorry the Bedouin raider is definitely not what you wanted. Incomplete + partly AOK.

Kal-El... Kal-El... I remember him I think.... ;)

I'm glad you've done this Kal-El... hopefully this will create more interest in closing the "flavor gap".

My Elephant Rifleman should be done relatively soon if you want to throw that in.

Kal-el, DYP is all i play on civ these days, its sort of hard to go back once you've played it.

I was just wondering, and this is totally off topic, have you thought about doing a scenerio. Your attention to detail would diffenitly make it the best about.

Yoda... I've procured a Viking longship model that I was thinking to do as a replacement... It was low on my to do list, but I'll bump it up.. Shouldn't take too long to animate it.

I was planning on doing a series of camel units from ancient to industrial era, so I'll do the Mameluk first.

Although maybe you'd like to wait until I release the Elephant Cavalry before you decide if you want me doing your units!

I wish we knew which scenarios would be coming with Conquests. With that information we might be abe to discern which units are likely to come with the game.

You figure with 8 new scenarios we should get a bunch of cool new units. How could they do the Mesoamerican one without a ton of new units? I sure hope they don't try and pawn off the old Euro style units as Inca warriors.

I assume you no longer need the cataphract.
