I want to know if there's any way I could set barbarians/goody huts to be spawned on a certain resource or if every time you got a goody hut a specific unit would be given to you along with all the other bonuses.
With the resource idea, I'm planning to make a bonus called "natives" which looks like a village and adds to food, shields, and tax.
With the unit spawn idea, a unit called "native" would be created whose only ablities are join city, build outpost, and build colony.
I think these additions to the game could be very worthwhile.

I'd also like to know how to activate the city/unit selector in the editor.

In the Rules=>General Settings tab you can choose "Default Money Resource" which appears under a barbarian camp. That's not a goody hut, but it's close. :D And you shouldn't give only some worker abilities to a unit, as the AI can't use it if you don't give the unit all of them.

As mrtn says, use of the default money resource could come close to what you want; take a look at this thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50129&highlight=default+money+resource) for more info. (Yay! search is back!)

With the native unit thing, I was planning on placing them on goody huts, but even though they're barbarian units, I can't place them there. Damn editor. I think I'll go with the resource idea.

There's no way you could made a resource a one-shot thing, is there?

I think there is a two letter answer to that: no.
