I would like to build canoes from start, with the same cost and stats as warriors 1/1/1. Just another option for early scouting and moving about. Canoes would upgrade to galleys.

I also want a non-walkable tile for use in the editor. No groundunits at all can move over this tile.

Canoes should have 0 for A and D.

Since many aincient new Civs are in, how about a Reed Ship? Something like Heyerdahls "Tigris" or "Ra" with A/D = 0.

That would open up a mighty fine place for a polynesian UU, a dugout that -automaticlly-can cross sea squares, while reed ships/canoes can NEVER beable to cross ocean squares (I know about Heyerdahl, and his expidition, and think it say alot about the possibiltity that the phonicians/carthaginians did in fact reach the new world in the B.C.E time, but this would be for game balencing purposes)

I just dunno if I would build a canoe in the rapid expansion part of the game. The warrior would be better for me. Maybe if my island was small, but then most of us would restart. Of what benefit would it be on conts, or pangea?

river travel for canoes would be cool, 1 transport-2 movement on River-one direction, 1 on coast-or up river..., like the idea of 0 defense 0 attack, and if u sent a settler down a river he would be double at risk-and u can only transport settlers or a warrior or an ARCHER (who could have a bombard attack ability only if in the canoe) and u may hit rapids which is like the ocean risk for galleys.
