I want shields when I chop a jungle, especially when it takes so long to do it. Can't understand why we won't get anything in return (except a workable tile) when irl so much valuable timber really comes from jungles.
So why not give us 10 shields or even 20 for cutting it down?

I agree. :goodjob: I'd say 10 shields, same as forest.

You are right about some jungles such as in Brasil or Borneo but usually jungles are full of not so big trees making more temperate forests much more valuable because of the sound quality of the trees and relative ease to drag them away. Some jungle trees are actually bigger or have more commericial value but they are scarced on a large, usually difficult to access jungle. Quantity of green life does not translate automatically into long usable trees.
After a certain tech improvement though (electricity ?), chopped jungles could deliver some shields but not as much as forests.
And before you look at my signature, I lived in a tropical forest for a few years.

I agree with LouLong - jungles typically are much inferior sources of timber than are temperate forests.

Sure, it might be inferior timber, but what about monkeys? After chopping down the jungles, the workers bring back some monkey slaves to the nearest city to help with the production!

Hey don't eat those poor monkeys. I mean they're not exotic birds. I wonder if those will contribute to food. A second "chopping value" would be good that applies to jungles.
Plus a game flag that allows of disallows multiple forest chopping for shields. Since both were implemented at some point it should be easy.

I wouldnt mind getting some shields for my troubles too. The only thing I can think of that may stop them from putting this in is that it might unbalance the amount of shields a city in the middle of the jungle gets. Think about how big some of the jungles in this game are. You could have like 6 cities completely surrounded by jungles and by the time you got done chopping them all down, at 10 shields a pop, you could have built a bunch of junk.
