Who'd like to play a turn based multiplayer game with a minimum of 4 players. We'll play (at least) one evening a week. Living in Europe is a preference, but if you're American you could play too, but only if you can play in the afternoon.

Compare it with PBEM: those games will take more than a year is successful; this game won't, if we make it to one evening per week.

A suggestion would be: sunday evening. Usually everyone is at home then. Monday evening is possible too... Perhaps both.

Players so far

I would be interested, but I do not like the 'one evening a week'-concept to be too fixed. If I have to go to family or friends (not that often, but sometimes), then sunday evening should be available for me, I think. Count me in if you're willing to do a weekly scheduling, with the sunday evening as default option. If not, that's fine too :).

Prolly also a good idea to begin with a test session to make sure online play with the people selected is good to do.

BTW: Is this game supposed to be PBEM power sessions or real turn-based online play? IIRC, Matrix, you could not get MP get to work

Real turn-based, Plux. I tried it out with WildFire and it simply worked. I probably just had some bad luck with the opponent... I might be I have to host, but I doubt that.

I think that would be best. I only would like that we play at least once a week, otherwise it's going too slow.

I might be interestred in this. Depends abit on which difficulty you will play on. Have never played mp before so it would be a new experience for me.

If difficulty are up for debate i would like Monarch/Emperor.

I prefer Monarch.

I've never seen you before Puwen, but that shouldn't matter. As long as you'll be there when we play. ;)

I'm interested too, but I think Plux makes a good point about first testing things out, because I'm afraid my internet connection might prove to be inadequate for online play. :(

Well, let's just see who signs up, and we'll have a test session with those this sunday? Maybe even a first real session? Let's say 20.00 CET, ok?

Ok, now we are with 4! WF, didn't you say anarres and Killer might join? I mean, if they wanna play they need to respond...

Otherwise it'll be the four of us. :) (Kemal is uncertain...)

Puwen and I tried MP out, but were unsuccessful. I am able to play with WildFire though, me as host. Tomorrow WF should be online and we can try with him being host.

Now I'm gonna play Unreal Tournament and listen to Dimmu Borgir (death metal). http://www.straland.com/images/smilies/feud.gif

It is 20:00 CET now!

Hello!

Matrix

It didn't work. Whenever someone tried to be host no more than two others were able to actually join.

In other words, something's seriously wrong with PTW's way of connecting, or we were just extremely unlucky, or we were all digibetic.

I am most certainly the latter. But that doesn't matter.
I was a bit surprised by the way it is set up. Far more complicated than other online games imho. Or is it just that it didn't work that I think so?

Plux

It is set up fairly simple imo, but that will only show if it actually works. Once you have played a few MP-games it will just be matter of click-click-click to get into a game, Stapel.

hehe, you all have feet for hands and fish for brains! ;)

Stick to PBEM, you know it makes sense! :satan:

Turn based would be 20 times more fun if it worked! I goes much faster and there's immediate interaction, plus that diplomacy works the way it actually should. PBEM is just a form of multiplayer to compensate for the disadvantages of normal multiplayer: having to be there at the same time, not needing more than than a modem, or simply a defect communication system.
