I think we should be able to run save files from the command line i.e. click on the save file to open it, like a word document.

This would make it easier for PBEMs, and it would also open the door for PBEM helpers, e.g. a program that will automatically email any new save, made in a certain folder, to a specified address, and automatically open it when you receive it back.

Even if that cant be done, it would make everything easier.

You can do this yourself but it is probably not a good idea if you have several games with the extension sav on your PC (i.e. you have many games on your PC). To do this, right click on any civ3 sav file and select open with. Keep the always use this program to open this file checked and click on others. Locate your civilization3.exe file and select it. Next time you click ANY .sav file, it will try to run with civilization3. Please note the word ANY above. If you are an avid gamer(not just civ3), I don't think it is a good idea to do this.
