I quote from the governor of aventine:

Mr. President. Due to recent events, especially the announcement that closed-door chats will take place as well as the PI, I have decided to issue the following orders for Aventine Province. All cities will be switched to the production of Wealth, and shall remain producing Wealth until I order differently. This production shall not be changed, even if we are at war. Secondly, all workers shall finish their current tasks and move to the nearest city, where they shall sentry until I order diffferently. I believe that this action will be for the benefit of the entire Demogame. I also ask that all department heads interested in stalling this game for purposes of creating a period of R&R for restructuring the game take actions similar to those that I have taken here. Thank you.

I ask you the citizens and as domestic department deputy do you want to see all the cities producing wealth or building infrastructure as we should be doing.

This poll is information and will remain open for 24 hours, where a legal and binding poll will be placed in its stead on weather or not domestic should override the governors instructions.

I request a judicial review on the constitutionality on this poll please

Please see the new announcement. If the governor cannot accept the solution presented, and insists on posting these absurd build queues, he will be removed from office by myself. The game will go on...

I am not actually clear on the nature of your request. Do you want to know whether the Constitution gives the Domestic Leader the right to over rule Provincial Governors?

Also please could you post any requests for a Judicial Review in the Judicial Thread.

Historically, only a Council Vote can over turn a Governor's build queue. I can't remember the Domestic Department ever having that privilage. Of course this may change when the new CoL/CoS is written, but I like this duty being one of the Council, as opposed to an individual.

That is absurd! I call for an immediate council vote to overturn that queue.

Sadly, we can't poll evreything, and most governors do a good job on the queues... yet I find it troubling that we do not have a swift system in place to take care of these situations.

I have posted my considered opinion on this matter in the Judicial Thread. :)

See my suggestion in the new Const/CoL discussion thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?postid=1089298#post1089298).

Stop such foolishness! I say that queue be changed! And the workers aren't under the Governor's jurisdiction on what to do, are they? Aren't they the Domestic Leader's responsibility? Yes, I do believe donsig's actions in a recent turnchat were out of line, but this is absurd. We don't need to cripple our nation just because some people have a grudge.

While I do not think the recent Aventine instructions represent the will of the people I do not agree that the domestic department has any constitutional authority to over-ride any governor's legally posted instructions. Governors have always been defined as leaders and have always enjoyed the benefits of leaders and have always been restricted as leaders (i.e., when running for office).

My suggestion is that if the people do not like the instructions posted by the Governor of Aventine, they should take the matter up with him directly in his provincial thread and / or via private message. I believe Noldodan to be a reasonable person who will listen to the people if the speak to him.

Much as I hate to say it, Donsig beat me to the punch. Due to the views presented in this thread, I am editing my queues as we speak.
