I am adding 3 new flavour units for each unit in the game to my mod. I don't want to get to many units as it gets confusing and I don't want to create units the AI can't handle. So what I am doing is splitting the 24(PTW) Civs into 4 groups and creating a new flavour unit for 3 of them. Thing is what CIVs should go into what groups? Here is my list so far:

Mediterranian | Euro

Rome | England
Greece | :groucho: France
Ottoman | :queen: Spain
Carthage | Russia
Egypt :egypt: | Celts
Babylon  | America

Asian | Nomadic

China :wallbash: | Aztecs

Japan :ninja: | Iroquis
Korea :soldier: | Zulu
India | :viking: Scandinavia
Arabia | Germany
Persia | [pimp] Mongol

What would you put where and why? I don't know a good name for the Nomadic group. Are Germans considered European? I put them away from the rest so when WWII roles around....what do you think?

I would even though the Germans did come from Asia put them with the Europeans, but still give them some units for WW2, I would also try to make for you DONT give the Med-Euro the best units, so when the modern age comes poor Korea doesnt have what it takes to defeat Russia, to to balance it...

I reworded my first post to make better sence. The new units will be just for flavor so there will be no disadvantage. Just wanting to split the 24 PLW civs into 4 groups of 6 with the ones who have the most in common in the same group. The reason being when it comes time to upgrade, they all upgrade to the next unit in their specific line and you don't have to worry about unit upgrades getting crossed.

Mediterranein special units-

ancient age- the UU's mix it up well enough so I wont bother

Medieval age- Cataphract Cavary (Byzantine, not the currentlly modeld middle eastern type, Kryten has one on his list, I suppose you could beg him to...), a strtonger knight with one more point of offense

Industrial age- Common Levies, a cheeper rifle man (avalible with him, not replacing him) but with a point less in both attack, and defense

Modern age- I dinno, just give 'em that modern infantry unit (along with every one else) and be done with it :)

Yes that is correct.

The list above is how I have put it together so far. The ones that are grouped together will have the same line of graphics for their units. I am wondering if Historically the way I have it would it be a good idea or not? Or should the Persians be with the Mediterranians or Mongols with the Asians and stuff like that. I am doing it this way because to create a line of units for each CIV would take 960 units all together and this way I make about 160 or less.

Why not just use the city style groups... Aren't all the civs already divided up into 4 different culture/city styles?
