View Full Version : Unit Request: Centurion, AMX-30,
Tepez2447 Jul 14, 2003, 06:15 PM Tank builders, i've a request for ye. While trying to customize my game, I've noticed that Civ3 really doesn't vary all that much. Not only that but it also tends to skip over certain developments, going from the beginning to the most advanced (examples being the tanks and aircraft). Thus, to give atleast a lil bit more uniqueness to each civ, i'd like it if someone would be kind enough to make these 2 tanks. The AMX-30 of France and the Centurion of Britain. People have already made others of this middle era, like the T-55/62, and M-60.

Nder Jul 14, 2003, 06:46 PM This would go along nicely with the M-60 and T-55 already available.
Tepez2447 Jul 14, 2003, 06:49 PM Twas what I was thinking. And for those who lack one, use the Kodiak as their middle.
Nder Jul 14, 2003, 09:22 PM yeah, that would work. what were some other tanks from the Cold War? German, French, etc?

Civinator Mar 01, 2010, 08:35 PM Tank builders, i've a request for ye... The AMX-30 of France and the Centurion of Britain.
Both tanks exist for Civ 3 since a longer time. The centurion even exists by several artists in several versions. If you canīt find them, some of them are included for example in the CCM main file.:)
The M-41 indeed is missing for Civ 3.

Quite a bit of what you're looking for - 50%? - wasMADE BY RIPPTIDE (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=2424179&postcount=22); other by Ares de Borg (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=3951739&postcount=38); although you didn't ask specificdally for one, a fine PRC Type 99 can be found HERE. (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=5013042&postcount=48) M-48 also by ripptide P45 in Modern Units d/l db, along w/T-72; 2 more AMX-30 by ripp p50.

Well, at least I hope the hour or so I spent poking around for these guys wasn't entirely wasted
Takhisis Mar 03, 2010, 09:11 PM :lmao: It's a mark of Wyrmshadow's respect for you, Oz, that he didn't give you one of the Wyrmshadow scathing replies℠ that he usually employs.
General 666 Mar 04, 2010, 04:15 AM :king:Oz ,your motivation to help the community out is like a blank just fired from a gun. Nothing can stop your willingness ...:goodjob:

YES, but no Bulldog to follow the fine Stuarts-M24Chaffees and ending in M551 Sheridans.
Perhaps in the long future......

Yesterday I`ve read your comment about the M-41 and browsed my own DB because I could swear we have. But I have found out that I was just fooled by a Scenario that has one Bulldog included ,but the folder has contained some other tank. No luck.
Ozymandias Mar 04, 2010, 09:53 PM  In my own defense, I'll point out that the 1st post I saw on this page is dated only a few days ago :)
2nd, I learned there are 2 M-22s and 1 M-42 ... Yeah, I know, no cigar ...

Yes Oz, I found this M22 Locust imposing as the Bulldog too.
Thatīs why I "opened" this old thread with the request, or plead, for the M41 Walker Bulldog.
I believe this M41 followed the M24 in time for the Vietnam war, so if I recall correctly it was in El Justos Vietnam scenario or his Cold War scenario I found the M22 maskerading as the M41.
These two are very different looking at the hull
