MSI is proud to present The Korean War Scenario!

As the Second World War ended the world had to face up to the new world order. Britain was no longer the power it used to be along with France and Germany. Japan was ruined by the long war with the USA and the devastating bombing leading to the dropping of the most horrific weapon ever on the city's of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the 'A Bomb'. The world was now changed after the power of the 'A Bomb' was seen unleashed before the world. The world surely would not after this horrific event ever go to war again, warfare had changed, it now threatened the world as a whole and everyone that lived on this planet.

The USA now was a great superpower as Great Britain was before it, but the USA had competition from the largest country on earth, the Soviet Union. The USA had an enemy with its threatening political system of 'Communism', the American administration's knew this had to be comfronted for the good of every single living being on the earth. The USA was needed in the world as Britain once was needed, this was to keep world order, in the case of the USA this was by holding the spread of communism. With the USSR with its evil leader Josef Stalin now holding nuclear weapons it seemed to the people of the world that by no means should nuclear warfare be risked upon.

All seemed quiet after the Second World War. One great man, Winston Churchill who led Britain to victory in the Second World was now out of office after an election defeat. He could see as he did before in the 1930's that a threat was there beyond the Horizon that an 'Iron Curtain' was forming in the East Of Europe led by the Soviet Union. Winston Churchill was correct, all the nations that the Soviets had liberated in World War 2 were now under its control under this 'Iron Curtain'. After Winston Churchill's speach all was quiet except for the expected squaffels between the USA and the Sviet Union, nothing threatened peace too much.

On September 1950 though all that had changed. In the once occupied country by Japan called Korea rebels in the North backed by the now Communist China and Soviet Union invaded the South of Korea threatening the freedoms and liberty's of every single person of the South. The South fought back but could not make any real progress as because the North was backed by its 2 very powerful Communist allies.
The newly formed UN was very frightened by the nature of this invasion and a UN task force led by the USA landed in Korea led by the maverick and renowned General Mcarthur. He led the UN force of many different country's to many great victories in Battle, but when pushing up near to the Chinese border trouble layed ahead. A massive force of Chinese steamed to the US positions form the mountains making the US have to take its longest retreat of its history. Mcarthur being the old style General he was saw the A Bomb as just another new weapon such as the Tank was in world war one, he thought victory was in sight if he had permission to bomb Chinese and Russian city's with this devastating weapon. Truman who was the US President at the time rejected this call and sacked Mcarthur for the good of peace and in June 1953 the war ended with Korea divided with the 2 nations North Korea and South Korea seperating Korea, it was a truce. The North is now a Communist country isolated from the world to this day still threatening peace and the Democratic South is now one of the most prosperous country's in South East Asia.

Great lessons were learnt from this war with neither side being victorious, the only country who gained from the war was Japan soon to be one of the greatest economically powerful country's in the 20th century.

Isnt MSI a game company?

How do you plan to implement McCarthers crossing the line drawn by China?

Can you please re-name some units for Canada i.e. Canadian Tank or Canadian Infantry. Possibly something like that for all UN nations who put troops on the ground.

MSI stands for Military Simulations Initiative which is our company. The situations in the scenario such as the Chinese will be as accurate as possible. Every regiment, division, air squadron and ship is named accurately via intense research as in all MSI scenarios.

Sorry so big but this is my first attempt at posting screens.

How do you plan to implement McCarthers crossing the line drawn by China?

The scenario begins with the succesful suprise invasion of Inchon. Simultaneously the US forces are poised to break out of the Pusan perimeter.

So there is no line drawn by China as they wont enter the war presumably for another turn or two. I can assure you that the Chinese forces are there.

Can you please re-name some units for Canada i.e. Canadian Tank or Canadian Infantry. Possibly something like that for all UN nations who put troops on the ground.

Canada contributed one army brigade, three infantry battalions, one artillery regiment, and one armored regiment. 3 destoyers and 1 air transport squadron. I have already placed the destroyers: HMCS (Athabaskan, Sioux, & Cayuga) in the game. If your not impressed with this level of detail tell me what I may do to make it more accurate. All of these units will be represented on release of the scenario.

All UN units will be under the UN flag but will be named exactly, it will be obvious which nation sent them.

(Royal Canadia Air Force No. 426 Transport Squadron, Lord Strathcona's Horse, Princess Patrica's Light Infantry, HMCS Athabaskan etc. etc. )

Jason has worked very hard on this, and because of that it is the best ever historical scenario ever on civ3 without a doubt.
