Maintainance costs for some of the buildings you can build, where does it come from? Is it deducted from your minerals or energy? I remember maintainance in Civ2 is deducted from your gold points.

From your Energy reserves. Energy is, for all practical purposes, the exact same thing as Gold was in Civ. There you have it, happy hunting..!
