The host creates the game and sets up all the settings and players. Then they play their turn and email it (or send through messenging programs) to the next person. That person plays their turn and sends it off to the next person and so on.

To play an email game just host a game as you would a normal game but choose pbem option instead. After that you can just load the game through the main menu.

At the end of each person's turn they are asked to save the file. That file is the one to be sent to the next person.

I hope that makes it clear now :)

How long do these games normally last. I saw one game saying that it plays one turn a day. That's 540 days!

Are they all played for that long or this one an exception.

any more than 2 players and 1 turn a day is probably normal.

I am in one with 4 people is getting about 5 turns a week.
another with 4 people is getting up to about 15 turns a week.

It depends were the players live in the world and if the players are ordered to suit there time to play.

Once you get to know a few people on these forums, it makes it easier to organise a faster moving game. But to get to know people you have to play them first ;)

With a 1 on 1 you can get about 10turns/hour until turn 80.

The idea with a 1 on 1 is that you are online at the same time and can send it back and forth quickly, Instant Messaging is good for this.
