View Full Version : Anybody play basketball??? amirsan Aug 06, 2003, 02:56 PM Hey Hey Hey! I love basketball, I just got the AND1 Mixtape Vol. 6! I go every morning for one hour and every night for one hour to play. Its my favorite sport, anyone here on the same boat??? :D amirsan Aug 06, 2003, 05:18 PM So noone plays basketball?? Oh well, off for my one our practice now. ;) china444 Aug 06, 2003, 08:50 PM I play it. I am OK at it, not the best in the world. It is my 2nd favorite sport, next to hockey. Quasar1011 Aug 30, 2003, 05:55 AM I don't like basketball. willemvanoranje Aug 30, 2003, 08:22 AM I play in a team. I'm a 17-year old, 6 foot 8 center. Topscorer 2 years in a row :D (last year 24 ppg, before that 30ppg), and my shot sucks. Oh yeah, it's been three years since I last didn't have a double/double in points/rebounds. I don't play outside very often cuz: 1. except for summer weather sucks 2. my knees and ankles can't handle hours of concrete jumping That kinda sucks. :( Indoor I can't stop playing though :D Too bad there's no free acces to the hall. JonathanValjean Sep 03, 2003, 08:47 PM Amirsan, basketball is my favorite sport. If I could play it everyday for 2 hours, I would, but my schedule just doesn't allow for it. How I miss the days of hearing that "string music" after shooting over a defender for the victory! What a great sport! Inter4 Sep 04, 2003, 04:21 AM I play it evey once in a while but I rather watch it on TV  HighlandWarrior Sep 27, 2003, 10:24 PM i played on my high school team as a guard(6' tall). It's tied with football(europes version) as a favorite sport. i don't watch pro basketball, bunch of babies...College is good...who's your favorite college team? i'm a hurricane(miami fl) fan (same goes for college football) pro football dolphins. aaminion00 Sep 27, 2003, 11:33 PM no i hate basketball. I'm 5'11, which is slightly above average for my age, but I absolutely hate it. man, this forum need some NCAA thread. for football and basketball.. I'm a Michigan fan in both sports. Especially football. willemvanoranje Sep 28, 2003, 07:44 AM so there's a good euro football league? WillJ Oct 10, 2003, 10:47 PM Basketball's my favorite sport too. I'm taking gym this semester in high school, and get to play an hour and a half each day. After this semester (I'm in the first semester of my freshman year), no more gym, though, and I probably won't be able to play it much. I haven't decided whether or not I should try out for the team. (Probably not; not enough time. And I doubt I'm good enough.) Unregister Oct 11, 2003, 12:18 AM whats basketball? oh right...that sad excuse for a sport. i play, just shooing around, or when forced to in PE. willemvanoranje Oct 11, 2003, 05:07 AM right. You obviously don't really play basketball if you think it's a sad excuse for a sport....the game you play in school is nothing like it's supposed to be. (except for in the school teams of course) WildFire Oct 11, 2003, 07:02 PM The NBA has wrecked basketball to the highest degree. I'm not talking about Kobe and his problem (but that could be part of it). All the showboting and crap has just made it awful. Personally, I hope Lebron fails HORRIBLY. The only good basketball is the last two minutes of a game. Archer 007 Oct 11, 2003, 08:28 PM I hate basketball. Seems to primative. Like all the high scores are suppost to make the game fun? Its a real bore if you ask me. willemvanoranje Oct 12, 2003, 01:59 PM what makes it primitive compared to a sport you like? HighlandWarrior Oct 13, 2003, 10:11 PM "seems to primitive", sounds like this girl has never played basketball. willemvanoranje Oct 14, 2003, 05:07 PM at least not with the right people Darkness Oct 15, 2003, 03:35 AM Basketball is my second favourite sport (after football off course :D ), but I've never played in any team. I just played with friends on an outdoor court near my house. And it was great fun, if we had enough people to make it at least 3-on-3 or more... Though it wasn't as much fun if I wasn't on my younger brothers' team. (imagine a 6'11", 210 pound guy swatting away everyting the rest of us trows up, 'cause, with one exception, none of the rest of us is taller than 6'5"). samparish Jan 09, 2004, 11:03 AM I love playing ball, it's great. My problem is that I used to be tall for my age so I would play the 4 or 5. But i haven't grown now for 3 years and am 5'11 so have to play the guard spots or the three if we're going small. My jumper used to suck but being small now means i've worked on it a lot and it's respectable, but my ballhandling isn't really good enough as I was taught how to play as a forward, not as a guard which i now am. Nevertheless, I got by until i shredded my ankle a little while ago. 6 months minimum out they say, probably longer as i'll likely need surgery:( believe me, not being able to play sucks, i REALLY wanted to go shoot this afternoon but just couldn't:mad: china444 Jan 09, 2004, 02:15 PM That really stinks, I feel bad for you, man. samparish Jan 09, 2004, 03:03 PM Thanks! It's better to get it sorted now really, then hopefully I can play next season pain-free, which i haven't done in a while willemvanoranje Jan 09, 2004, 03:54 PM i know the trouble, just recovered from some ankle trouble (minor though). Three years ago I did something bad to my ligaments, and ever since it has 'repeated' about 5 times (although two of those times were on the other leg). It's really ****ty. Longest I've been out is 2.5 months though....with one injury. One season I played a game, ripped ligaments, made my comback and damaged my meniscus after two games. That was the shortest season ever. :p samparish Jan 09, 2004, 03:58 PM Sounds kinda similar to what I've done. Apparently a piece of bone came off when i landed awkwardly on it (mind you I'm not 6'8 like you!) and is gradually doing stuff to the ligaments. it just felt a bit painful after games at first, so i'd rest it for a bit but it kept coming back. Glad I went to the doctor when I did to be honest. willemvanoranje Jan 09, 2004, 04:03 PM yeah, I do it with landings too. Except for last time. That time I wanted to dunk, but was a little bit of course, tried to compensate....and somehow jumped with my foot double.....hurts, but you get used to it :p that bone stuff sounds pretty dangerous though... General Porkins Jan 09, 2004, 11:36 PM oh man i love playin ball. i cant wait for intramurals to start up this semester. ive been back to watch a few of my old high schools games and i would give anything to go back and play again. |
