Obviously I will be organising another Champions League competition based on the same spreadsheet as last year but this year I thought I would also try to organise another tournament.

It would be based on the Sun's dreamteam competition (http://www.dreamteamfc.com/dtfc03/servlet/OpenFSELogin?homename=dtfc03&language=ENGLISH&aff_id=139)

Idea 1) Now the site has a list of all the players that you can choose from and it also includes all the points for the players so once we picked our teams it would be easy to score them as it would be done for us. This idea would be free for everyone to enter as you are not directly entering the competition but of course you would not be able to win the prizes.

The scoring will be done for us but the team selection rules are these:

Pick a squad of 11 players
No more than two players from any one team
The total value of the team cannot excede 40 million
You must pick a goalkeeper, 4 defenders
and then 3 midfielders and 3 strikers or 4 midfielders and 2 strikers.

Idea 2) Whilst this competition could be run in this thread it would also be possible to actually enter teams into the competition for £5. As I am expecting to do this myself and if you enter 5 teams, one team is free. I have had the idea that people who wished to enter could send me £4 or the equivalent in Euros...

If anyone is interested in this idea then PM me and then I will reply with my address. I hope some people will be interested in this idea as everyone would save slightly and also it would mean that people from abroad could actually enter the competition however it will be fine if we just run the competition without paying and just base it on the Sun's competition.

MCdread just reminded me to say that it would be based on the English premiership.

This can be the discussion thread and I will make the team entry in a few days as its best to pick your team as close to the deadline next saturday as possible as new signings may be made.

Just watch out if you pick your team too early, as certain teams may buy new players and then you may find you wish to alter your selection although I guess it would be possible to edit your post and change your selection, until next saturday at 2 pm.

I will start the entry thread on Monday so that people can start entering their teams but if you don't want people to see your team before the deadline then feel free to send your team to me by PM as then I can post them on the Saturday if you want to submit your team early.
