Should Aventine and Capitoline each produce 9 cavalry and 3 muskets in the next Turn chat (10 turns)
This poll will be open for 24 hours.
You may vote either Yes, No or Abstain.
The reason for this poll is to determine whether we as a nation should increase our efforts to build up our military strength so we can acquire the 5 cities outlined in the War Planning Thread.
If this poll receives a majority in favour then the governors of each province should alter their build queues according to the will of the people.

As governor of Capitoline province I officially object to this poll on the following grounds:
1) There hase been no prior discussion of this topic;
2) This poll does not state how long it will be open;
3) The chat is only about 24 hours away (I think) and there is therefore not enough time to adequately discuss and poll this issue.
Due to these reasons I consider this poll to be invalid.
Therefore I will not be bound by the results this invalid poll and I ask that it be closed and/or otherwise withdrawn.

1). Not a specific dedicated thread but people have expressed a desire to have a war and have the right number of troops in place. This is not a cold poll. people do understand the situation.
2). Yes there is.
3). We have delayed the issue too long and have spent 7 pages worth of posts discussing the war. I am confident the people understand the situation.
As long as the poll meets the 3 mandatory criteria it is valid.

As long as the poll meets the 3 mandatory criteria it is valid.
1) People have expressed a desire far a war and also for a certain invasion force. They have not yet expressed where that force is to come from. They have also expressed a wish to pre-build ToE in Gorina. This is a cold poll as it is posted. I'm the governor of Capitoline and I don't even know if Capitoline can build 9 cavalry and 3 muskets in the next 10 turns. I doubt anyone else does either. If it is possible can it be done without disrupting the market and pre-build in Gorina? I don't know for this hasn't been discussed! I know even less about what Aventine can build in the next 10 turns because it hasn't been discussed.
2) Sorry, it is posted to be open for 24 hours. I do think that is not enough time to properly discuss and poll this issue though.
3) The fact that your war has been delayed does not make this poll valid. I understand that you are confident that the people understand the situation but I am not and since I am the one with the responsibility for the Capitoline build queues I must follow the will of the people as I see it.
We have no rules specifying what makes a valid or invalid poll, no guidelines that tell a leader how to ascertain the will of the people. My common sense tells me that this last minute poll is an effort by the frustrated hawks among us out for Cleo's blood. The subject of this poll has not been discussed at all prior to the poll and I do not see how the people can understand the situation. Once again I ask that this poll be closed or otherwise withdrawn.

If we have a proper discussion and a full poll of 48 hours ending at lunchtime on Sunday will this be satisfactory and will you abide by the results? :)

I would have no choice. But isn't the next game play session tomorrow?

It is worth the delay to ensure that we are all in accord. :)

I see. So you are asking us to decide how to make up this invasion force which will be used to start a war 20 turns from now? Just as long as we don't lock ourselves into something we may regret in 20 turns. Are we going into this war on the assumption that our cavalry will be fighting pikes or spearmen? Or do we expect muskets? Can we opt out of the war if Cleo has nationalism in 20 turns?

Please see the new discussion thread ' Making up the shortfall'
Donsig has agreed to abide by the results of the poll that follows the discussion. :)
