sure, its probably been done, but what do you think is the most ill-programmed pile of poo ever made

id say the worst is either any E.T. game, or the dreaded......SHAQ FU

god, now i have to wash my mouth out:(

I tend to forget bad games a lot. But I remember one:
Test Drive IV. It's requirements were extremely high and it looked worse than III and the gameplay was even worse than II (so did III too by the way). That was my step over to Need For Speed (III). ;)

The Worms spin-off game that was just an 'updated' version of Breakout.

All Star Soccer and Lemmings 3D for the Playstation are two that instantly spring to mind, although im sure im forgetting a couple for the SNES

I'm generally so impressed that people can create games altogether so I find it hard to dislike certain games much.

Though, I don't think the world would have been a worse place if Terminator2 wasn't released on the Amiga. I kind of remember Ocean releasing movie-spin off after movie-spin off, and they generally was below average IMO. :)

I think Harry Potter is OK actually, BTW, pug, do you hate HP for it's content or b/c of your religion? My least favorite is probably ET.

@cilpot

Hey you, I was a games tester for Ocean Software for quite a while, when they were releasing the movie spin-offs you mentioned.

I deeply resent you saying the games were generally below average.

They were much worse than that!!!!!!!

;)

Seriously, I tested lots of those games, the Addam's family stuff, Jurassic Park stuff, they were WAY below average.

I hope you were being honest with them, polymath ;) I cant help but wonder why people would buy crappy games just because it has the same title as a decent movie..

@puglover: Thanks! I thought it was an acronym like MoO3, PTW and so on :)

"I hope you were being honest with them, polymath " - cilpot

I was honest without being insulting. Some of the people making the games had great talent but their hands were tied, if you know what I mean. And some of the games were really good too but that's not the purpose of this thread.

When I was there, it seemed all you had to do was put "Hey Kids! Buy this, it's JURASSIC!" on the box and you had a best seller.

Superpower was insanely realistic. No cool graphics either (extremely few graphics in fact)!

That gets my vote.

Sep 16, 2003, 11:09 PM
Superpower, that's a good game, I was playing it 20 minutes ago in fact.

Well, my vote would go to ET, and this one terrible game I played, I belive it was called Civilization 3. (j/k :p)

If you name any Infogrames published game then ur sure to have one sucky game on ur hands.
No scratch that, the games r usually ok, it just pisses me off u need to download 5/6/7 patches before the damn thing works rite; all cos infogrames needs to release it yesterday to make as much money as possible.

Also I once bought a game called economic war, it cost me like £5, but it looked not bad on the cover...it was a good idea but they over did it...it was like they tried to over simplify it and ended up making it so god damned complex, and lengthy that it was just borin as sh*t.

Test Drive III. It's controlls were practically impossible. One gentle press on the "left" button would turn the car 270 degrees left.

Dangerous Vaults (http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=1493) ... It is one of only 3 PC games on Something Awful to have received the coveted -50 (out of -50). My friend downloaded it just to see how bad it is... It is WORSE than Bikini Karate Babes SoRHunter...

People like to go on and on about "the worst game ever". They like to pretend that they know what the most abhorrent game in the history of bad gaming truly is. Once you have played Dangerous Vaults you will be able to listen to these people blabber endlessly about "Star Wars: Force Commander" or "Hatfields and McCoys" with a smug smile on your face. When they're finished you can tip your hat, say "Dangerous Vaults is the worst game ever", and walk away satisfied in the knowledge that you just rocked their world with ineffable truth. Dangerous Vaults is a Tomb Raider rip-off that has painfully bad graphics and an interface that is almost impossible to use.

Tetris.

Simply that it got so famous and so many people raved about it and so made the gaming community look like a bunch of retards, which although is true in the main does hurt my self-image too and so must be prevented whenever possible.

Er... Civ 3 is an Infogrammes published game, they own the Atari name.

The worst game EVAR1111™ is yet to be made.

The Lost World for Playstation, the controls were impossible to use, and the enemies killed you in around two hits. In fact, when I bought it, it had a list of cheats printed on the back of the guide.
