I've done this several times. The AI will offer me a deal like, "give me X technology for my world map" and I obviously propose a counter offer, and they will accept virtually anything. I can put 3 or 4 techs on their side for one of mine and they will take it. Anyone else have this prob?

The AI is probably just trying to bluff you, but when their bluff is called, they're ready to offer you just about anything

not really, it's not like he demands something from me for nothing, he will usually just offer his world map for one of my techs or somethin. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happened to me twice in one game the other day. When I go to renegotiate, I can put nearly anything up on his side (3 or 4 techs) and he will accept it when I offer him my maps.

He's trying to get something for nearly nothing. I've seen it to.

You say "What will you offer for Monotheism?".

He says "World Map".

I then add Monarchy to his side of the offer and he would still accept it.

Why should he give you monarchy, if you would accept just his world map? He tried getting your tech very, very cheaply, but you were smarter than that, so he did cough up monarchy too.

Yeah, that's what I think it is too. Not really a bug, just a good bluff :)
