Oppression in Israel. With the rapid growth of the new Christian cult the Jewish leaders have decided to take drastic action to curb the spread of the new religion. Christian leaders are arrested for heresy and put on trial for treason against the Jewish theocratic rulers. In response the normally peaceful Christian priests have been usurped by a new faction of Christianity that advocates violence to eliminate all non Christians. These radicals have spread throughout the Mediterranean but have most sway in the nations that have readily accepted Christian Missionaries, namely Assyria, Arabia and Spain.

South Africa undergoes a transformation. With a name change to the Zulu Empire and a slight expansion north the Zulu have become the preeminent power in South Africa. However there is a storm on the horizon. Explorers and settlers north have been turned back from a mysterious people to the north that want nothing to do with outsiders. So far there has only been silence from the northerners.

In Canada the Barracks of Canada is finished greatly increasing enlistment into the Canadian military. This coupled with the rapid development of knowledge in the country propels the Canadians into the Classical age. New ideas in economics, social systems and even military tactics brings Canada to the forefront of North American powers.

With the explosion of Christianity in Arabia the Sumerians begin to grumble about their occupation under a King that accepts outsider’s religions. No action is taken but the citizens are growing seemingly tired of the Crown in Mecca. Moreover the Christian’s have sent missionaries into the Barbarian camps that are scattered across the interior of Arabia. The Arabian armies that are sent into barbarian lands to claim the land for Arabia unleash a bloodlust against the new Christian tribes. The religious differences that had grown deeper and deeper in the decades since Arabia allowed Christians into it’s territory reach a climax as the Pagan Arabian troops take out their hatred by slaughtering the Christian tribes to the last. Men women and children are all put to the blade in the name of the gods.

Mongolian riders continue their nearly unopposed ride south. Any that stand in their path are swept aside by the superior tactics, if not the inferior weapons of the Mongolian riders. The Mongolians are able to sweep all of the barbarian rabble aside but halt when they reach the organization and civilization of China. Any advance beyond their borders would undoubtedly bring many more casualties and a long war.

It has been nearly 200 years since the first boat from Central America landed In North america and in 150 years the first wonder from a diferent continent would be built. King Vallejo was very happy. There had been many generations of children between each so theses children of North America Honduras were skilled in sailing and accustomed to cold. There were stories of a pathway to the new world. The path way was called the pathway of Ice and cold and it stretched along two islands and than to another that was considerd the gate too the new world. THe children in Northern Honduras chose to take on this task and that they new there generation after the end of the wonder would help them

Diplomacy of the Gael Clanhold

To: Macedonia & Spain

The Spanish republic is a farce - commoners have no voice and their President is merely King with a new name.
There claims to the contrary is laughable and shows us that the leopard has indeed not changed its spots.

To: England

The nations of Scotland and Ireland no longer exist.
We have reunited the Clanhold as it was centuries ago.
We hope you would not dispute this - our alliance is beneficial for our army is mighty while your navy is unparalleled.

Also we would like to propose the renegotiation of the border back to the traditional Tyne-Severn river border so that the Scottish townships of Ayr, Galloway, and Berwick all return to the fold.

To: The Netherlands, France and Germany

Is our alliance still in effect or has it lapsed?

Orders=
-Begin trading on the continent to stimulate the economy
-Press unification of Ireland and Scotland into the Gael Clanhold
-Build the city of Glasgow on the west coast at the same level is Ediburgh

Amon Savag
Jan 09, 2004, 06:19 PM
@Puma:and my wonder should be done

The new religion of Hono-Shintoism was being preached in Geystral by a man named Amon Savag...Oh yeah,he's the Emperor:p.He had spent many nights in search of ways to bring a new name to his country after being so peaceful...He went to lengths to speak with Philosophers, and whatnot of the time...This was the product.

Hono-Shintoism

A new religion that enphisizes full honor (only teachings being taught now in Geystral...Except basic school crap)...To do something not so honorable is shunned by everyone else. The main message of the new religion is "We all live and die...Some live known as honorable men...And others as not unhonorable men...We rather live and die honorable than the dogs that don't"

These teachings include

-Unhonorable to rise against your emperor
-Unhonorable to disrespect your father or mother
-Unhonorable to not produce more than 3 children
-Unhonorable to accept aid from others (Unless merchandising or making a living)
-Unhonorable to lie to one's familly
-Unhonorable to go against one's word
-Unhonorable to go against the will of the Emperor
-Unhonorable to be untrue to one's Empire (Rebel, help the enemy, etc...)
-VERY honorable to join the armed cervices at age 17
-VERY honorable to buy your own equipment to join the army
-VERY honorable to serve for 5 years in the military
-Honorable to live up to your familly
-Honorable to keep one's house clean (Noone likes a messy house)
-Honorable to report any mutinists
-Honorable to plant a garden outside one's house
-Honorable to sit in school and not interupt
-Honorable to participate in one's emperial activities (Such as when I was rebuilding my ports)

Also set aside this law I am decreeing that all young lads of age 12 must start another class in school called "Training" and I would like Physical education from that point on just buffen up the boys. It's unhonorable for girls to join the army...They are to take care of the familly.

Great things were occuring in Japan. The new lands in Manchuria were producing many goods that were benifiting people throughout Japan. The people were happy and the Emperoror was determined to make the people even happier. He greatly expanded the imperial fleet and loaded the entirety of the Japanese army onto it. Then he sent them to Manchuria and along with the rest of the army invaded the "barbarians" to the south of their territory. They would capture new lands and make them as profitable as their current ones.
The Emporor also orderd the construction of the largest military academy ever. He wanted this devoted entirely to military, making his men the strongest fighters in the known world.

In the Americas a war erupts. Honduran, Cree, Huron, and Montagnais troops catch Canadian troops off guard in some locations but in others Canadian troops hold the line valiantly.

Borneo gets invaded by Geystral and Thailand. Both nations smash though the defensive lines of the intricate fortress system and advance rapidly inward. The now massive geystral navy destroys the Borneo navy and then is defeated by the Timor navy which retreats before the whole of the Geystral flotilla can be gathered.

Japan sends their warriors south to attack Koguryo. The ragtag Koguryo army is swept aside by the highly trained and well equipped Japanese Army. It seems that the Koguryo nation is in it’s waning days.

The Mongolian threat gets ever greater as the smaller northern Chinese tribes are easily swallowed up by the massive and well trained Mongolian army. It seems that no power in the area could stand up to the might of the Khans.

OOC
Not that much happened this update besides these 3 wars. Hopefully the next update will garner more orders and therefore make things more interesting.

The mighty Russian giant collapses under it’s own strain. The difficulty of running one of the most massive land empires the world has ever seen proves too much for the czars who have been weakened by ineffective leadership in recent decades. The poor leadership proves powerless to prevent hordes of barbarian tribes from overrunning the borders and in 342 CE the sack of Moscow. Now the former land of the Russians has been carved up into large barbarian chiefdoms, content to pillage and plunder the vast steppe.

The Slavs begin to migrate south into south Europe and in their wake local tribes take control.

The Parthians unleash a vicious assault on the Persian Empire. After years of neglect the Persian army had fallen from the mantle upon which they dominated the Middle east. The Parthians take advantage of the situation and let out a blinding attack by elite horsemen that rampages across the eastern Persian desert.

Mongolia finally takes it’s assault to China. Mongolian riders sweep into China and encounter the well prepared and organized Chinese army. The Chinese have been looking north for decades fearing the Mongol threat and have prepared for this war. Upon defeating the first scattered Chinese unit’s the Mongols advance into a devastated land. The Chinese have burned or killed anything that couldn’t be carried off that could be used by the invaders. However, on the field of battle the Mongols continue to defeat the Chinese at every turn. They are able to make substantial gains but are in the end held up by a determined defense line and an exhausted supply chain.

The Gupta Empire rises out of assorted northern Indian Kingdoms. They are a powerful people with ambitions of a grand Empire. They are seen to look with envy, and no small amount of jealousy at the marvel that is Sinhala.

To the surprise of nearly everyone on the Indian subcontinent a large republican movement takes a hold in the easternmost providences of Satavahanihara. For the first time a people have risen up with the desire to govern themselves and it is centered in the birthplace of democracy, the Indian Subcontinent. The Satavahanihara army has yet to mobilize against the threat but it is clear they are determined to allow their citizens rights, let alone letting them succeeds and join Sinhala.

The Koguryo are finished off by the Japanese and a surprise Korean assault from the south. The women and children are led into slave camps for Korean and Japanese military commanders. The men of Koguryo are slaughtered nearly to a man.

Two Kings of major nations convert to the now established Christian religion and the conversion soon spreads to the rest of the populace in both Assyria and Axum. Surrounding nations look upon this conversion with the fear that it will spread to their nation and possibly embroil others in religious war.

In the former Catalan lands the descendents of those conquered people, the Visigoths have risen up against the mighty Empire of Spain and demanded a independent Christian Visigoth Kingdom. They seem to be getting outside help but no one in the area knows who might be supplying these Christian rebels. In response to this however the Moroccans have agreed to fully return back to Spanish governance as their economy and military were in shambles without direct Spanish control.

In Canada the war continues to rage fiercely for both sides. In a lopsided naval battle the Honduran navy is utterly defeated while attempting to ferry supplies and men to the Honduran colony to continue their war. The only thing preventing the total defeat of all Honduran troops in the area is the knowledge that they have nowhere to run, and thus their resolve strengthens by the day. Things go worse for Canada in other theaters however. The Cree are able to push the Canadians back on a broad front taking many of the forts used by the Canadians as strong points. Delaying tactics have prevented a total route of Canadian troops on the front but there has been a overall advance by the Cree. The Canadians are also pushed marginally back by the Montagnais on the northern front but the quality of Montagnais troops is much lower than the Canadian training program. The Canadians are able to push the Huron back to their borders in the west but they are unable to prevent a Cree and Huron linkup near Lake Superior. Most positive for the Canadians however is the uprising of the Ojibwa, a people conquered by the Cree centuries ago.

The Cossacks let loose a fury upon the unsuspecting Armenians to the south. In two columns they advance, crushing the Armenians at every turn until they reach the capital of Armenia. Once there the first besieges the city being held back by heroic Armenian defenders until the second column of Cossacks shows up on the horizon and totally takes the city by surprise, only the King and a few royal guards are able to escape along a preplanned route and set up a new government in Baku.

In Southeast Asia the Geystral aggressively pursue their war against Timor and Borneo. The massive Geystral navy is sent out on long combat patrols to search for the Timor navy. Much to everyone’s surprise however, the Timor navy is nowhere to be found, but for a few minor sorties that the Geystral navy totally dominates. The absence of the Timor and Borneo navy is glaring but all becomes more clear when troops of the alliance advance further into Borneo. While pressing their assault the troops of Geystral and Kersut begin to encounter small numbers of troops of neither Timor or Borneo. The troops of the Alliance o Fudge Package advance deep into Borneo and almost totally encircle the three remaining Borneo strongholds before a massive counterattack by Timor, Borneo and a newcomer, Guinea. It seems as though the navies of the Pacific Alliance had spent the time ferrying troops from Guinea though back channels and were able to sneak troops in under the nose of the mighty Geystral Navy. In the counterattack the Pacific Alliance takes advantage of total surprise and imposed incredible casualties on the troops of Geystral and Kersut. However numbers and experience prevail and both armies are able to recover from their shock and gain back most of the land lost.

The Tales of Sengli

http://history.smsu.edu/jchuchiak/10011636aSalamis.jpg

He lay upon the stone street, his eyes were wide open into the blue, empty sky. Along both sides of him the busy streets continued to evolved without him, everyone with their own business, going about living their lives. Most were oblivious to the rest of the world. Merchants yelled advertisements for their goods, filling the air with mindless slogans like "Fish that don't make ya' puke" and "Rugs guaranteed to last the next flood." He was tired of it. The city had grown to become a bore. The grand city of Anuradhapura, heart of the Republican Sinhala, had become a bore to one of its largest promoters.

Sengli regained his balance after he fell to the stone floor from some mechanical person who cared not for anyone else but the people he knew. Brushing off the dust from his skirt, he noticed a glint of gold underneath a stone away by the city wall. Curiously watching it as it grew bigger as he neared it, he grew to need it. The want and curiosity of whatever lie mysteriously under the brackish dirt that plagued the land was getting a hold of Singli’s mind. Finally approaching the item, he bent down on his knees and carefully brushed the dirt from its smooth surface, revealing a gold coin, worth more then eight hundred marks! That was the most money he had ever seen, and he himself was not a poor fellow. Grasping the coin in his hand, he got up and forced his face to squeeze, blocking the hint at fortune.

Slipping the coin into his purse, he walked quickly to the grand treasurer of the city. He would be the only one with enough gold to be able to supply Singli with spendable currency. The door to the bank was quite large and fantastic by itself. It stood nearly ten fight high, of solid wood, and with engravings depicting the grand battles at Gereian and Serentavo in India, before the Republic began to retreat from the northern hordes. Pushing the door, Singli created an opening large enough to squeeze through. When he finally was able to get through, he looked up only to see an arrow pointing to his head.

“This is a robbery my friend,” the man spoke calmly. There were three men in there, one had a knife to the banker’s throat, one was loading up the coins into three brown, cowhide bags, and then there was the archer with the arrow to Singli’s head. The archer was very nervous, the arrowhead was now on Singli’s head and he could feel the shakiness that the archer had.

“You will listen to me or you will listen to the arrow, you understand?” the archer spoke, with a shaking voice. Carefully Singli nodded his head. He felt himself begin to sweat and he could feel the small beads developing on his forehead.

“Slowly, put your hands on the ground.” Singli obeyed, first getting to his knees, and then bent over so that his hands touched the cool smooth stone. He was definitely sweating now, he could feel the streams if it down the side of his face.

“Grab his purse.” The man loading the money ordered, so the archer set down his bow to bend over to detach it from Singli’s belt. Beginning to breath rapidly, Singli remembered the money he had just acquired.

“Stop!” Singli yelled without even thinking about it. “You don’t want to do that.” The man reaching for the purse froze. He looked at Singli’s face, starring with dread.

“You shut up!” The man loading money yelled. One can tell that he was angry for having this happen. With that said, the archer without a bow continued to reach for the purse. Singli, beginning to panic, grabbed the man’s hand and swung him around, sending him through the air and on his back on the opposite side of Singli. Yelling as his hit the ground, the other men were on Singli in a second. The man with the sword began to swing at Singli’s chest, missing by nearly an inch each time as Singli continued to back up. Finally he hit the wall, and a grin spread across the maniac’s face as he wielded his sword in preparation for a stab. The other two men were behind him; the one who had been thrown through the air was touching the red blood that had drained from his nose.

He went for the stab, but just before it touched Singli’s chest, as if from the heavens or Et himself, another sword swiped from the side and with a loud “Clang!” the maniac’s sword fell to the ground. From behind the robbers came seven guards, their swords drawn, and even three more with archers from the side, aiming at the men. Shouting profanity and trying to struggle from the guard’s arms, the robbers were escorted outside the bank. The banker stood by the door, smiling as they exited.

after some thought and discussion i am going to minorly change rules, and i think you all will like it

- When in war, you can upgrade two things per economy level, this is to simulate either war booty or the outpouring of civilian support for a war effort, sort of like mobalizing the home front for defense. Both of course will be determined by me so don't ***** and moan if you think you should get it and don't.

Also

-If your nation is a trading/seafaring nation, ie. many ports, lots of foreign contacts that like you and trade with you (not shown by a route), then you will likewise be able to increase two things per economy level..

These were taken from Stjnes5 so if they seem familar thats why. So thank you Jason for permission and for the help you gave me.

These will be shown in the update under the Trade section and will be represented by a "*" next to your nations name

This is retroactive and therefore i would advise everyone to go back and check the last update to see if they now have a *.

NEW

Army increases are now +300 per increase and also everyone's army got multiplied by 10 to simulate the sizes of armies in that time period. Army increases are staying at +300 to prevent rapid replentishment of troops lost in war. Wars should be about attrition.

In the Caucasus mountains the Cossacks end their war with the Armenians with a substantial territorial gain and potentially a new trading partner. This doesn’t stop the Cossack lust for conquest however, as they launch a brand new assault against the barbarian Huns to the north along with their Bulgar allies. In the former Russian territories the battles become more and more fierce as the warring tribes continue to ravage the countryside. In the north the new, backward chiefdom of Muscovy has been established consisting of ethnic Russians and comprising most of their historical territory. The Huns, despite being invaded by both the Cossacks and the Bulgars manage to mount effective counterattacks on those armies all while nearly destroying the decrepit Scythian Kingdom, which retreats at every turn.

The Zulu Empire embarks on a policy of aggressive expansion and for the first time in their history their warriors are sent into battle. Little is known about the enemy that they are attacking but surprise triumphs over the lack of information and the Zulu are able to push back the nameless tribe despite fierce opposition.

The Mongolian Horde continues it’s unstoppable march across Asia. Thousands of keshiks descend on Han China, throwing the powerful nation to it’s knees. Through sheer force of will and skill the Mongolians are able to slam through the powerful line of fortresses that the Chinese erected to stem the Keshik’s march south. Casualties are massive on both sides as the Asian plain is witness to some of the fiercest fighting the world has ever seen. The Chinese are totally surprised by the Mongol’s ability to break through and are unable to deny the Mongols needed supplies and provisions. Following their legendary victory north of Peking the Mongols press their advance seemingly unstoppable and refuse to allow Chinese forces reprieve as the Mongols quickly seize control of the northern capital of China and burn it to the ground, following a thorough looting. With the looting of their most prized northern city many regional lords in the south refuse to follow the Northern government and join the Jin family that has been emperors of Canton for centuries. Thinking that their fortunes would be better if they weren’t not allied to the North. The new Jin Chinese government proclaims it’s neutrality in the present conflict and refuses any aid to the Han, who they feel are illegitimate rulers of China. That seems to be the highest point of Mongol fortunes as the barbarian tribes to the south prove a difficult nut to crack and stubbornly resist the Mongols preventing more Mongol penetration into Han China.

Japan presses on against the eastern edge of the barbarians effectively pinning the Manchurian barbarians between the armies of Mongolia and Japan. The two Asian powers have a border now and everyone is anxious to see what the future will bring in that area. (norseone, you might want to talk to me regarding your orders)

The Hudson Bay alliance signs a Peace treaty with Canada leaving Honduras to fight on it’s own until both parties sign a cease-fire for now. Both sides fortify the border almost expecting a revival in the hostilities.

In Borneo the Alliance o Fudge Package continues to press it’s numerical advantage over the Pacific Alliance. The battle stagnates on the northern front where Kearasut presses forward but not by much as most of the fight takes place wherever Geystral troops are found. In a brilliant sneak attack the Geystral snake riders are able to seize control of the remaining Borneo forts and send the troops there reeling. Most notable however, is the naval war. In the largest sea engagement in human history nearly 450 ships from both sides meet up off the coast of Timor and set their sights on one another. In a tight contest the troops of the Geystral navy are able to prevail over the Pacific Alliance’s fleet by virtue of their technology, skill and equipment.

In India the Gupta Empire unleashes a massive invasion south, attacking nearly every nation in it’s way. All are caught off guard as non expected such a new nation to have so much power hidden away. In the south the Republican revolt takes a turn as open war breaks out as the rebels are petitioning for help from Sinhala.

The Visigoth Christians hold back from declaring open war on the Spanish government which has been moved to Madrid to keep it closer to the frontier. However, in the former Carthage lands the inhabitants are more willing to rise against their oppressors and the Vandals declare open war on any and all Spanish troops there.

In America an old war ends as a new one opens. Following the peace of Canada the Canadians and Hondurans have united to attack a old friend of Canada, the Delaware. Utilizing the Canadian navy the Hondurans attacked the coastline of Delaware and despite their small numbers were able to use the surprise of the attack to their advantage and carve a respectable beachhead. The most devastating blow however, comes from the three pronged Canadian attack. Fierce battles rage near the Great Freshwater Lakes as frontier Delaware troops are fighting a desperate battle against the Canadian advance. A whole unit of 1500 Delaware remains trapped behind enemy lines in the region as the rest of the Delaware army is fighting on the main front of the Ohio River. Most disturbing of all for the Delaware is the assassination of their leader and two top military commanders at a summit to discuss defense plans. No one knows if this is a foreign power or the work of an ambitious General inside Delaware that promptly seizes control of the government following the High Chief’s death.

The Cossacks and Bulgars continue to press the Huns back. However, instead of fighting the attacking Cossacks and Bulgars the Huns have instead decided that they are too powerful to fight and have decided to migrate west, attacking and destroying the Scythian people. This results in huge gains for the Cossacks and Berbers as their power extends as far as they can supply their armies.

Mongolian armies stand idle as their communication lines seems to have been disrupted by local Chinese partisans. Due to this inactivity the Japanese take advantage of the situation and attack Mongolian held China. They gain a large amount of land and suffer few casualties mostly due to the lack of Mongolian occupation troops and Chinese assistance to the Japanese. However the Chinese do make a concerted push for their most prized northern city of Peking and succeed in retaking it after suffering huge casualties. The Mongols suffer a moderate amount but the local commander chooses to not sacrifice men for land. The massively fortify the city to prepare for any counterattack and set up secondary forts along the primary accesses of attack for the expected Mongol push. The recapture of the city does reinvigorate the Chinese populace and they garner more recruits for their armies.

In Borneo the war stagnates as equal numbers on both sides are unable to advance more than a few miles into each others territory before a massive counterattack comes from the other side. It seems that the massive numbers of men are limitless on both sides and that there is no end in sight for the war. Men who have been fighting for generations are growing tired of the war and are content to languish behind the lines in a vain hope to escape death. Many of the front line Geystral troops openly abandon Hono-Shintoism in favor of Buddhism from the mainland and try to avoid their military duties. One bright spot for Geystral however, is the invention of a repeating crossbow, one that can fire up to 6 bolts in a 15 second period, and astonishing number. Geystral and Kearsut also make contact with the Philippines across the sea.

In South Africa the Zulus push north and encounter next to nothing. The enemy that they had been fighting mysteriously disappears, leaving no trace of their whereabouts or who they may be….

Spain grants limited autonomy to the Visigoths to practice their new religion. They are independent in all but name, with the power to do anything domestically and only being unable to conduct foreign policy. However the Vandals are attacked with a fury as no quarter is given on either side in the brutal battles.

Greece, Rome, and Egypt all convert to Christianity and Greece moves its captial to the religious center of Byzantium.

Satavahanihara crushes the Republican revolt and in concert with the Magadah and the Gupta carve up the Indian Subcontinent into a new political reality.

Can i trust that you guys won't get stupid and start sending colonists everywhere in the hopes of gaining more land? B/c i want you all to remember that just b/c it's white on the map doesn't mean that there aren't locals!!!! If people start getting stupid then i'll just start whacking colonial expeditions until the Age of exporation and you'll all be screwed. For reference consult a contemporary map of your region to see just how much colonization there was.... Not much. I'm trying to keep this realistic so there WON'T be huge empires anytime soon. So suck it up and keep that in mind. Any questions can of course be referenced to me, as always.

The Tales of Singli continued…

Singli was soon on his way, with a load of gold in his back sack. It weighed quite a lot, and he had trouble holding onto the sack whenever he had to ascend or descend a staircase, ramp, or other inclines. The city’s rising and falling sectors did not help him much.

He was on his way to the dockyards are the south east of the city. Here he would purchase a ship and a crew for an adventure that he had not known since he was a kid exploring the neighboring forest. Meanwhile, the streets were very crowded now. Sweaty people passed by him, most were forced to bump shoulders or run into each other due to the density of the city. Some were pushing carts, in which they were given full priority on the right side. Once a cart almost trampled Singli, but he was able to stop the cart with his hand and the old man continued around him.

The streets soon grew larger, the density began to spread out, and the air became more breathable. He knew this was the sign of getting leaving the downtown area, and approaching the docks, which were almost deserted this time of day. Most shipments came in at night under the cover of darkness from thieves that would try stowaway. The harbor at Anuradhapura was still not notoriously large because it was not a seaside city, rather it was connected to sea through a system of dikes and canals, making it almost only for the rich who could afford such passage.

Anyhow, the smell of water soon filled the air, and the loud chattering and murmurings of the city died out, and the air was left empty for the thoughts of Singli. Finally able to clear his mind, the only sounds were that of the gentle waves lapping up against the wooden docks, and the metal chains that seemed to clang tenderly against one another when lifted by the water. A small round hut lay to the south east of the harbor, and Singli guessed it was the shop. After stopping for a brief second to take in the sweet air of the river water, he picked up his sack and continued on to the round stone hut that was tucked nicely along a grove of trees.

Knocking gently upon the wooden door, an old man with a noticeable long white beard answered, his eyes seemed to cover most of his face as they drooped to his chin.

“Hello young man. Is there something I can help ye with?” he asked calmly, his eyes attracted the gaze of Singli as he became lost in the emptiness. Singli dropped his bag and offered his hand for a shake.

“Good day, sir. I am looking for the shop of this harbor. Might this be it?” he asked hopefully. The man smacked his lips together, and formed a smile that seemed it could ride right off his face if the ears did not stop it. His deep blue eyes suddenly lit up with a passion that only Singli’s lust for adventure could equal. Meeting with his hand, the old man shook his head violently.

“Yes, sonny, you’ve come to the right place. Come in, won’t you!” he said while slowly opening the door as it squeaked on its iron hinges. “I have not have many guests lately, please excuse the mess, won’t you?”

“Why, yes of course,” Singli answered, noticing right of way that the store was actually converted into a home. It was still evidently a shop though, composing of four counters along the far wall that displayed examples of items that were probably stored in a back room somewhere. A large sign in the far right corner labeled ‘Used Ships’ caught the eye of Singli, which his legs soon followed. Underneath the sign were five papers with drawings of various ships. Each had a price at the bottom corner. As Singli began to shift through the drawings, the old man crept up along his side.

“Ahh, planning an adventure are we?” he asked kindly. Turning to meet his stare, Singli responded, “As a matter of fact I am. What could you recommend me, sir?”

“Why all these are fine, fine ships. But should you wish for an adventure outside our island, I suggest the Sereti. She’s a fine ship, sturdiest bows in the North Sea. Should you like to see her?” he asked, eagerness flooded his face.

“I should see why not. She is here, in this harbor?” Singli asked.

“Yes, yes of course. Come, let me show you,” the man said, leading the way out the squeaky door and onto the dock. It was full of various triremes, most of which were probably private. But there was one that stood out.

“There she is,” he said, pointing to a beautiful ship that anchored at the end of the dock. It was clearly larger then the rest, and much more colorful then most of the ships Singli had ever seen. The wood of the ship was a dark brown, a sign of strength and endurance. A pair of sails sprouted from her center, one small and one large. On board, the ship had a large hull, capable of easily storing every man needed, and a hefty cargo. Upon sight, Singli immediately fell in love.

http://members.aol.com/crossbow42/trireme.jpg

“I wish to purchase this ship.” He said, being unaware of the voice leaving his throat.

“Very good choice.”

SOCOTRA PROCLAMATION

Upon approval of the Senate, the Socotra Proclamation herby grants the island of Socotra province-hood in the nation of the Republic of Sinhala. Thereby the people of Socotra will elect a representative to serve in the Senate in Anuradhapura every three months.

Purpose
Socotra will become the Official Trading Post of the Sinhalese administration of African Trade. Here, upon this island, a trading port will be constructed large enough to handle the largest volumes of trade the known world has yet to see. Since it is expected a large population of merchants will end up settling on the island itself, the Senate will provide proper funds to make the cities upon Socotra modern, healthy, appeasing to the eye, and efficient. Law forces will also be present, as well as a military base and port for the Sinhalese army and navy.

Process
Every three months, a shipment of Sinhalese goods, measured to meet the demand of traders and then doubled to create a surplus, will be sent to the island. The goods will then be dispersed among the African countries in smaller fleets; the merchandise from Africa will then be brought back to Socotra. The fleet that arrives every three months will then carry these African merchandise back to mainland Sinhala and Ceylon for extensive trade. Socotra will also serve as the main hub for all African traders who are not able to reach mainland Sinhala or Ceylon.

Establishment
The port-city of Zandri will be established at first, and when demand is high enough, a second port will be established.

Signed,
Rashi, Consul
Senators of Sinhala

We have been distant aquaintances in the past, what is wrong with improving this relationship? Two friends who work together can greatly help shape this world into a friendly world that is acceptable to you and me. If we begin extensive trade, the profit accumulated from the trade can greatly expand the economies of our great empires. So how about it, shall we begin extensive trades by opening a trade route? I am sure your people will not mind Sinhalese goods flowing through your markets just as much as my people won't mind Arabian.

A man in a richly decorated uniform walked the narrow streets. He was as usual followed by a grand onteraje of solders, all dressed in armor. The local people hid in their homes and observed him from their windows. It was obvious that this was a man to be respected. He was one of the most one of the most feared men in northern Asia now. He had led many Japanese troops against the Mongolians and won a great number of battles. He would continue to win, for the glory of Japan. No one would stand in his way! No one would keep him down.
“General!” shouted a young man as he ran towards the General. “the Emperor has sent his orders. We are to continue pushing south and west into Mongolian held China and then press North into Mongolia itself. We are to continue this until the Mongolians agree to our terms, that we will think up.” “Good” replied the General.
This would be the most glorious of victories for Japan. The grand empire had taken on another great military power, and they had won. No one could stop them from winning now. No one could stop Japan from achieving her greatest goal, achieving empire!

When the word was given the 15,000 keshiks invaded Western China in a huge suprise attack. China preaperd to defend the cpital and most of their army was in the east! the rest 5,000 Keshiks vanished into Mongolian lands. They preaperd to defend Mongolian home lands from Japanies attacks.
"Burn scortch and destory, leave no men allive! Every man Japan or China loose will have his weopnse taken and given to a Mongolian. No mercy! The Mongolian horde is coming!"

to Korea:
We signed a defensinve alliance. I expect you to honor it and invade Japan.

The ferocious Huns succeed in forcing the Slavs to fully submit to their rule and eagerly join their army which immediately marches upon the Macedonian Kingdom. Upon contact with the well trained and equipped Macedon armies the Huns manage to turn the flank of the Macedon armies and using the superior mobility of their horses are able to nearly wipe out nearly the entire army of 4,000 that arrayed against them. From there the Huns are easily able to conquer the cities of Budapest and Belgrade. It seems no force in Southern Europe can stand against the Hun’s march. Also distressing to the Macedon’s is the attack of Rome in Albania. The Romans take advantage of the Macedon weakness to create a grand empire in the eastern Mediterranean. Their attack in Albania goes unopposed until the other half of the Macedon armies meet Roman troops in Kosovo. There the demoralized Macedon armies fight the Romans to a standstill despite expectations to the contrary.

The Delaware war broadens as the Cherokee make good on their promise and declare war on Honduras and Canada. They send their troops immediately to the front to stall the inexorable Canadian and Honduran advance. They do however, keep a token force to the South to defend against a possible Seminole attack. That force is not in vain. The Seminole honor their alliance with the Hondurans and send a force across the border to occupy the time and effort of the Cherokee army. The Canadians are able to crush the pocket of resisting Delaware with heavy casualties. The Canadian attack out of Michigan advances, but only slightly as a concerted Delaware attack comes head on against the Canadians as the Delaware army had tried a counterattack to free their cut off comrades. The Canadians and Hondurans make their greatest gains in the Ohio river and eastern fronts, in both areas linking up the two armies and pushing the Delaware stumbling backward toward their capital. Most effective in the war however, is the unexpected entry of the Sioux, who see a weakened Delaware and Cherokee as an ideal opportunity to test their war skills and take large tracts of land. The Sioux armies have linked up in small areas with the Canadians and an uneasy truce has settled over the two camps.

The Christian Kingdom of Axum unleashes a religious war against their neighbors in Meroe, with the sole aim of either converting the heathens or killing them. Many surrender and willingly convent while still others decide to resist the attackers with all their might. In the end it matters little as the Christians in Axum are able to dominate those in Meroe and now dominate the majority of Eastern Africa.

Sinhala founds a new opulent trade city on the island of Socotra designed for massive trade with the rich nations of east Africa. As of yet only a few minor cities of Adel have sent goods to Sinhala but all nations in the area have expressed interest in the idea of a trade hub that Sinhala has proposed.

In Southeast Asia the Geystral armies make significant gains against the Pacific Alliance arrayed to stop the spread of Geystral power in the area. With the introduction of the repeating crossbow the Geystral troops are able to lay down a murderous hail of arrows against any formation of Alliance troops. The allies have adapted well to this new weapon hiding behind the natural vegetation of the Borneo jungle to avoid the volleys of arrows. Nevertheless, the Geystral armies are able to advance ever closer to the Borneo capital. In the naval war the Geystral have mixed results. After a naval invasion force of nearly 3000 men easily surprises and overruns the small Timorese garrison on their westernmost island the Geystral navy is surprised by the whole of the Alliance’s navy. In a fierce battle the smaller Pacific navy defeats the much larger Geystral navy and succeeds in cutting off the 3000 troops now on that small island. One bright spot for the Geystral is their snake troops. Following their defeat off the coast of Timor the snake riders from sunken ships unleashed a last ditch suicide attack on the Pacific ships, forgoing getting rescued by their navy. The riders felt it better to die in the service of their Emperor than to fall back without destroying the enemy. The riders gather following the retreat of the Geystral fleet and ride into the midst of the victorious Pacific Alliance fleet, sacrificing themselves at the cost of more Allied casualties.

The Sumatrans are able to pioneer the use of sea astronomy in the southern hemisphere and are able to ride the prevailing currents across the great southern ocean to settle new lands on far away islands.

The Zulu are also able to send small colonization expeditions to Madagascar, a heretofore uninhabited island. The Sumatrans and both of Zululand’s allies also send settlers there following the Zulu’s success.

The Cossacks continue to push the Huns westward toward the Macedonians with a grand push north that is able to seize much territory.

The Mongols resurface with a unbelievable fury that forces the Han Chinese back to their knees. Out across the Gobi desert the Mongols are able to move 15,000 men around the rear of the Chinese fort system and take the Chinese army completely by surprise.

The Japanese are able to continue pressing their assault on Mongolia. With their ranks bolstered by Chinese partisans and minor tribes in the east the Japanese encounter little resistance. The Koreans likewise encounter little resistance as they cross their border with Japan and come across newly constructed forts on their border. The Korean’s fear of these forts is responsible for their refusal to attack them and instead they make cautious advances designed to draw the attention of the Japanese away from Mongolia.

In North Africa the Vandal revolt gains momentum and the Spanish are quickly tiring of casualties from it. They have instead nearly come to terms with a Vandal Kingdom in north Africa, despite some remaining fighting. The Spanish have set their greedy eyes on the weakened Kingdom of Sicily, making numerous demands for tribute.

Zulu Empire

With the new colonies on madagascar the economy bustled thanks to all the new goods from the island hitting the market. But one thing troubled Big Chief Death, it was the arm. It was not that the army was bad it was just not big enough. So Big Chief Death decided to have his loyal people constuct barracks, the biggest the world had ever seen. These Big Chief Barracks would bring a good amount of men to both the army and navy. Since the big chief thought very highly of himself he also had his peple build many staues of him, most people would have been upset by this but since the big cheif payed them a butt-load of gold for it they were acutually happy to do these things. This led the big chief to think even more highly of himself. But in the end everybody seemed happy about it really.

The Spanish Kingdom has gone leaderless for many years. The king has left, and supposedly killed himself leaving the government in totall shatter. Local warlords still kept the nation in tact, but disunited, leaving many other cultures to invade and claim thier land. One, named the Vandals have invaded Carthage, claiming the city as we knew it. The Visigoths wanting thier own place to study thier faith and religion.

A new leader has arisen to power among the largely displaced empire of Spain. This boy, born and raised in the valleys of the Andulasian mountains grew as a hardworking and virtuous man. He climbed the many hills and passed through many beautiful villages and cities until he reached Madrid. He began to work for a spearmaker. His aspiration was to enter government, which is why he went for it. He always passed though the large Roman and Spanish style structures where the government lead their meetings. The Senators were all but the less intellectual people that lead this nation when there was no leader. This boy's name was Don Juan of Andulasia.

As time went by, Juan learned much of his country, he traveled many lands as a Spearmaker. Learning the secrets of merchantilism he began to wheel and deal with other metal workers. He became renoun for his skill of trading and began to hire others to make the spears and weapons for the army of Spain. He purchased land with his newfound wealth, and built a whole town for spearmaking. This town was located above the state of Portugal on the very coast. This town was named Don Juan. He became the most richest man in Spain. Many knew him as he walked by. No one knew his knowledge of diplomacy and leadership that he witnessed and learned in his young days, watching the Senators. He decided he will take his stand, and run for office.

In 515, the election process began. The largest population in Spain was known to be Spanish, followed by another 13 or more ethnic backgrounds; the second largest was French. Don Juan was of both ethnic backgrounds. He took the podium on one Saturday morning, having many supporters watch him, and shook the crowd with his aspirations for future Spain.

'We will rule again!' was quoted from Don Juan and posted in every large newspaper business in all the lands. Everyone used this as his slogan. He became more known all around Espania, as the man that will remake the country of Spain.

Came elections in 516ce, another runner up in the elections was Jose of Madrid. He was not as rich, and powerful as Don Juan was. He struggled to get 25% of the votes above Don Juan.

"...and the new leader, of the National Republic of the Spanish Empire is... Don Juan of Adnulasia!"

The crowd went wild as Don Juan took the stage to give his inaugeration speech. The streets of Madrid were flooded by people all around the nation. A new time was to come for this country, and new era of great prosperity was ahead for the people of Espania.

Sinhala

The nation was now becoming a maritime power. The city and trading center upon Socotra was established, and trade was bustling in, much more then expected. Consul Feani, the first woman consul, gave new funds to expeditions that are expected to reach Africa, and hopefully jumpstart even more trade. Meanwhile, she instituted the Second Sinhalese Educational Program. The first one, started by Consul Giglid, established a school teacher in each temple and provided lessons for cheap costs. The Second Sinhalese Educational Program would be different. A Naval Academy, with twin bases on Ceylon and Socotra, would become known throughout the world as the premeir naval training center. Schools, public buildings, will be built in every village. Sinhala is to propel to the future - on the wings of education.

ORDERS

Cossack King Ivanov stood atop his sturdy blackhorse Shadow. He gazed out over the large army standing beside, behind, and infront of him. They all stared eagerly at Ivanov.
Suddenly, a far off galloping noise could be heard. Squinting his eyes, Ivanov spotted the galloper. He rode a white horse and had a letter of sorts hanging around his neck. "It is the messenger, my fellow soldiers! He comes with the news you've been waiting for!"

About 5 minutes later, the messenger on his white horse came upon the crowd of soldiers. Wanting to hear his news as quickly as possible, they parted like the Red Sea. The messenger walked to the center of the crowd where King Ivanov was. Almost unable to control his excitement, he whispered into Ivanovs ear.
"Interesting, very interesting." The soldiers all simultaneously leaned closer, "wow thats great news" "What is it??"shouted the whole battalion. Ivanov responded,"I just saved a load of horse insurance by switching to Geico" the crowd was silent "and....THE HUNS HAVE AGREED TO PEACE!! ONTO THE BULGERS!!!"
So they cheered for a fortnight, all the while riding to thier next destination, Bulgerland.

With the rise of the Huns and Mongols to legitimate nation states and the Vandals granted nationhood by the Spanish it becomes clear that the world has entered a new age, one filled with war and strife, the Barbarian Age. (everyone is now in the barbarian age but everyone’s education went down to ignorant save Sinhala’s who increased their education this turn. If you had an outdated navy then it is no more, it rotted in it’s harbor)

In Japan the ending of the war with Mongolia induces a expansion in trade that jump starts the economy into recovery. The Military Movement wonder is completed in Kyoto, meaning many more men flock to join the army, which now has a glorious record as being the only nation to be able to best the Mongols in combat.

The Parthian Empire again unleashes total war on the weakened Persians. They advance to the Euphrates river in the north and are nearly able to surround the capital of the once great Kingdom. Without outside help the Persian Kingdom will be no more.

The gargantuan Hun army completes it’s destruction of the Macedonians along with Roman help. Following the war the Hun King, Attila travels to Rome to view the wonders of civilization there. This inspires the Hun King to either create some Hun civilization of his own or simply take it from other weaker nations. To that aim they launch an attack on the Germanic Kingdom to the west.

In Southeast Asia the Geystral troops had begun to notice a subtle shift in the posturing of Kerasut forces to the defensive and have shifted their troops into a similar stance. The Geystral navy splits into four fleets and three head out to find the elusive Pacific Alliance fleet. And they succeed. One fleet of 44 Geystral Don stumble upon the whole of the combined Pacific Alliance Fleet of 140 ships in the Philippine sea off of Vietnam. The Geystral ships retreat to bring the information back to their Admiralty. Much is made of this in the Geystral high command with no one being able to reconcile the reasoning for the Pacific Alliances deployments. Immediately dispatches are sent to Vietnam so they may prepare for an attack on their coast. But one never comes. Then suddenly months later a Northern garrison of Geystral troops goes ballistic attacking nearby troop barracks and slaughtering fellow Geystral troops. Then the most unexpected development occurs. It seems as though the loyal allies to the north, Kerasut, have made some sort of agreement with the Allies. The Allies ferry half of the Kerasut army back to Kerasut where the launch a massive invasion upon the unprotected northern frontier of Geystral. With nearly all of their troops in Borneo fighting the Geystral civilians are forced to take up the defense of their Emperor. They fight, and inflict casualties on the invaders but end up giving up massive gains. The Borneo then launch a massive counterattack with nearly all of the Pacific Alliance’s ground forces against the well prepared Geystral troops. But they weren’t prepared for the other half of the Kerasut army attacking their rear and flanks and have to fall back after giving as good as they got. On the bright side for Geystral they are able to invade and land 3000 troops and take the fight to Guinea.

The Canadians, Sioux, Seminole and Hondurans continue their attacks on the Delaware and Cherokee. The Cherokee are nearly crushed by the combined armies of Seminole and the Sioux and the Seminole have surrounded the capital by land and blockaded it by sea. It seems only a matter of time before the city capitulates under the duel strain of enemy forces and starvation. The Delaware continue to fall back, trying to trade land for time. A flicker of hope appears in the east. The Honduran troops, with their economy in deep depression have gone years without pay or adequate food or even weapons. This causes nearly half of the Honduran army to desert in some form or another. The Canadian advance however unceasingly marches on. In response the Delaware navy is able to stage raids up and down the coast of Canada pillaging and burning towns in retribution for the war.

The Cossacks make peace with the Huns who are content to march westward toward the riches of the western civilizations. Following this peace the Cossacks turn east toward the Barbarians of the steppes and attacks the Bulgers forcing them back toward the east along with the Russians to the north.

Near the Alps of central Europe a native people known as the Burundians have begun the grumbling of revolt amongst the 3 nations that their nation crosses. These Burundians are mostly Frankish of origin but differ in that they are Christians but not only that, they followed the teachings of a man named Ariaus, a Christian who denied the divinity of Christ, a heretical proposition to the Franks and curious nonsense to the Germans.

Geystral - Vietnam (0/3)

Don Juan entered his new Palace after the elections, he quickly settled, and started the matter of business for the Spanish Empire.

The people admired him as a new leader to bring Spain from the Dark times. The Huns have invaded the Germans, and are leading closer and closer to Spain. They are said to be 3 times our size, or more.

"What shall we do of these people that invaded the Germans?" the advisor asked.

"Well, arent the Germans tightly allied with the Island Alliance?" Don Juan replied, "aren't thier 'great' alliance going to help the Germans?"

"We dont know, thier foolish people, the Scots and English, aswell as the French."

"We cannot help the Germans, it would be out of our league, for we would be next in the Hunnish conquest," the King said, "we will ally with them, we will call it the Alliance of Empires."

"How shall we contribute to thier conquests?"

"We shall invade the Germans closest ally, France"

"They are very powerful sire, dont you think we should wait until our economy recovers, maybe in 100 more years."

"Yes, you are right, we are on the brink of a dead economy, that would devastate us. We must contact with the Hunnish king."

"I recall his name being... Attilla, Attilla the Hun."

"Send to him one of our finest emissaries, send him an invitation to our banquets. Where I will host the event. He will be the guest of the evening, for then I will strike the deal to his extravigent empire."

"Yes, very well sire"

Japan was on the move. Men were building new things, and thinking of new ideas. The ranks of the army were swelling, and times were good. The only problem was the horrible lack of naval power. We are Japan! The greatest naval land in the world! Said the peasants, but they had no navy to speak of. Something must be done!

The Japanese fishermen were called on to enlist in the Navy and build a huge shipworks. They needed a larger number of ships in order to transport their great armies between what has become known as the two Japans. That is North Manchuria, and the Japanese islands. The problem would soon be solved!

Orders:
-build up economy by building more roads
-pay for trade with Yaomoto
-begin shipworks of Japan (+4 ship +2 economy)
-build up more defenses in Manchurian holdings

CANTON

Di Xi, who lived in Zhongshan, could make a liquor one cup of which was enough to get one drunk for a thousand days. There lived in the same prefecture a man called Liu Xuanshi, who, being a heavy drinker, went to Di to ask for it. "This brew is not yet ready," said Di. "I dare not give any to you." "Just one cup, please," Liu insisted, "though it is not yet ready." Because he said this, Di could not help giving him a cup, which he finished. "Wonderful!" he said. "Do give me some more." But Di said, "Please return home now and come on another day. The one cup you have drunk will make you sleep for a thousand days." So Liu left, the colour of his face having somewhat changed. As soon as he reached home, he apparently died of intoxication. His family believed he was dead, cried and buried him.

Three years later, Di said to himself, "It is time Liu woke up. I had better go and ask about him." He went to Liu's home and asked, "Is Mr. Liu in?" Surprised, Liu's people said, "He died a long time ago. The mourning for him is already over." It was now Di's turn to be surprised. "The liquor I made was so strong that he would sleep for a thousand days after drinking a cup of it," he said. "He ought to wake up today." He urged them to open the grave and break the coffin to have a look. There was the smell of sweat on the grave. When it was opened, they saw Liu opening his eyes and mouth and heard him drawling, "How happy it is to be drunk!" Then he asked Di, "What did you brew to make me so drunk that I've woken up only today, How high is the sun now?" All those around the grave laughed. The smell of liquor from Liu's mouth got into their nostrils and put them all into a drunken sleep for three months.

Sinhala becomes the preeminent maritime power of South Asia and east Africa. Ships from all over the known world travel to Singhalese ports to trade goods and the island of Socrota rapidly becomes the most quickly growing city in the world already exceeding 500,000 citizens with thousands more traders trading there every day. All of this trade causes an economic boost that shocks the entire region. The Singhalese treasury seems to have far too much money in it and it seems that if some of it isn’t spent the economic bubble could rapidly burst and send the nation into skyrocketing inflation. For now, however the government is enjoying the fruits of it’s citizens labor with the incredible economy boost. The expeditions along the African coast succeed until a major storm strands a merchant fleet along the coast. They create a settlement in the area and associate with the locals continuing in the Singhalese tradition of trade.

Burgundian prince finally places a face behind the movement for their own nation. The Frankish kingdom sends a army to the area to quell any possible uprising but it has the reverse affect, many civilians are upset that the Frankish lords feel they have power over Burgundy and the ability to convert to their particular brand of Christianity. Germany and Spain remain totally silent as the religious movement in each of those nations grows, but much more peaceably. Germany is far too occupied in the east to concern itself with any such issue and the President of Spain seems out of touch and unaware of any problem.

The Huns continue to ravage eastern Germany. Rampaging through the countryside the Hun army is able to totally beat every German garrison or military formation that can be risen to prevent their march across their lands. However inexplicable after marching nearly to the gates of Berlin they stop and march no further. Everyone wonders what is going on and anxiously awaits for the other shoe to drop.

Rome and Greece sign a historic mutual protection pact in light of the overwhelming danger of the Huns to the north. Upon discovery of this the Huns pivot from the west to the new danger in the south and march into the Greco-Roman Army. The Greeks and Romans are pushed back by the Huns but they are able to maintain their unity and exact fearful casualties from the marauding Hun army.

Japanese economic boost over, rapid expansion was too quick and following massive government spending caused inflation, the Japanese economy is now in dire straits as the government has very few funs to attempt to recover and the economy is now on verge of collapse.

Sale of alcoholic beverages in Jin china expands rapidly growing the economy even more than expected. Increased tax revenue gives the Emperor a windfall of funds to spend. As such he celebrates by buying a lot of the “wonder” alcohol that is nation is now famous for.

The Cossacks are able to continue to press the Bulgers back onto the steppe with the help of the Russians to the north. However, this pressure has awakened the Kazars to the south of Bulgerland and they have been uprooted by the war to their north. Not only do they move toward the north to combat the invaders they find the Cossack menace looming. Neither side knows what the new barbarians intend to do, if anything at all. The flood of gold and loot from other nations in the Cossack kingdom have some advisors worrying that there is too much money in circulation and if the government doesn’t spend some money soon than inflation would set in and cause the economy to stagnant.

The Canadians are finally able to take down the Delaware with the help of their allies. The occupied land is annexed and the war is over. Looting and capturing the major Delaware population areas brings great unexpected growth to the Canadian economy causing rapid expansion. One major problem remains however. The Sioux demand that their entry into the war was the decisive factor and as such argue that their long coveted ocean accesses be granted to them.

Honduras finally claws it’s way out of a totally dead economy but the damage of that long period of darkness remains. It may take many years for the economy to recover and much investment and work by the government

Geystral citizens, feeling leaderless in the current crises grow more dissatisfied with their government and consumer confidence falls bringing the economics of the beleaguered nation to the breaking point. The armed forces are upgraded and this spending totally devastates the fragile economy of Geystral, sending it into a major depression. On the war front, mixed news. Kerasut pulls back across the border with Geystral and Vietnam and in fact turn on the Allied troops that came with them and kill them to a man. However the citizens of Geystral adhere to their religious beliefs and gather militias and march across the border to pursue the Kerasut army. Most distressing for the former alliance is that Vietnam doesn’t forgive the treachery and launches a small counterattack against the invaders. On the island of Borneo the Kerasut troops take the Allied troops by surprise when they turn on their former allies and this allows the Geystral troops to take advantage of the situation and make good gains. However, Vietnamese troops refuse to participate so long as Geystral forgives the utter treachery of Kerasut. The Geystral fleet sails to sortie with the Allied fleet but neither can bring overwhelming force against the other navy and while there are loses on both sides it isn’t decisive.

A new religious leader comes to power in Arabia and with his magnetism is able to unite practically the entire nation under his rule. Only small Christian and Jewish holdout settlements in the north, and Sumerian cities refuse to fall in line. To bring these “heathen” under control he announces a great crusade to drive other religions out of holy lands and many crusaders join the Arabian army and offerings to the cause drive the governments war coffers.

The Parthian totally annihilate the Persian empire and as a symbol of unity among the two cultures proclaim the joint Sasanian Empire.

The Han Empire, looking to reclaim the glory lost in the wars with the Mongols invades northeast Tibet in the hopes of finding a link to the west and possibly new trade routes.

Ethiopia embarks on a period of expansion in East Africa. Their aim of dominating all of east Africa is at great risk though. The power Christian kingdom of Axum to the north and the maritime power of Sinhala all exert influence in the area and are seen as a challenge to the “divine” right of Ethiopia in the region.

Geystral - Vietnam (1/3)
Spain - Berbers (1/3), Norway (2/3), Sweden (2/3), Finland (2/3)

Travels of Sigi

ooc: A blatant copy of an idea from aaminion in stjnes5 /ooc

Hello, I am Sigi, my last name is not important for I do not wish to honor my bloodsucking family for this journey I am about to begin. A travel in which I will write about every hour of the day in this journal, and compile it a survey of the nations of the Indian Ocean for the greater of the literary readers of the Sinhalese language.

Chapter One – Satavahanihara

http://history.acusd.edu/gen/eng/spain/images/PDRM0074.jpg
The image above is of the capital of Satavahanihara, Ahrnadabad, with surrounding villages

I make my way to the country of Satavahanihara my buggy, a friend I know owns a mule and buggy and has agreed to take me to the Satavahaniharan capital of Ahrnadabad. The country we make our way through is full of Sinhalese culture – a relic of the once great Sinhalese empire that stretched through this land and further north. The language is spoken still, but the official language has been dubbed the ancient Satavahaniharan language. Little farms appear on the way, but when they do they are little less then just blotches of weed with a vegetable here and there, or a wheat field that is dreadfully overgrown. Poverty strikes the land from every angle, and I stay within the buggy with my dagger ready in case any poor man tries to rob me.

The road is bumpy, made completely of rocks. There are frequently roadblocks where a tree has fallen, or rebels who charge a fee to get through blocked off sections of the roads. Not wanting any trouble, I of course pay the fee, which usually isn’t much. As we near the capital, more and more small towns are seen, until finally we reach the capital, with huge walls that surround it built in the Sinhalese fashion. They are probably the same walls that the Sinhalese citizens built to defend this town.

It was not hard to enter Ahrnadabad like it is to enter any usual Sinhalese town – all you had to do was state your name and the guard wrote it down on a tablet. I gave a fake name. As soon as we were inside the city, I quickly put my shirt to cover my mouth. The street was sick. There were people falling over each other, streets full of waste, and crumbling homes. At the end of the road, in the distance, I could see a high stone building, which must be the temple. Making my way down the street, within the buggy still, the slums slowly turned cleaner, more prosperous. Markets soon appeared along the street side where goods ranging from gold necklaces to exotic woodcarvings were sold. I stopped by a near vender who was selling bananas.

“How much for this, good sir?” I asked politely, feeling he hunger churning within myself. The banana I picked up was as hard as a rock, but I did not care.

“Fifteen rupee,” replied the robust, yet healthy looking man. I could see what looked to be his daughter sitting behind him on an overturned crate, kicking her knees in front of her. I gave him an eye of suspicion, since fifteen rupee could usually buy two dozen bananas in Sinhala proper. But his face portrayed nothing out of the ordinary. I soon realized that it was the going price in this country. Handing him the equivalent in Sinhalese coins, which were accepted in this country as well, I took the banana, turned around, and attempted to peal. Unsuccessfully, I withdrew my dagger and cut the peel, revealing a brown mass of what seemed to be rotten banana. Sighing, I through it to the ground and hopped back into the buggy. From here I made my way to the port, where a trireme would be waiting for me boarding to take me to the island of Socotra.

ORDERS
-Open trade with that brown country on the Indus (name?)
-Spend an economy on upgrading the Socotra island into an island capable of double its citizens and a state of the art defense system.
-Increase navy once and army once (1 economy)
-Establish banks in all of my cities, especially the capital and on Socotros, capably of holding money for the traders, and set ten guards per bank.
-Send 2,000 men to the new colony in Africa. Reinforce it's defenses, and if possible, continue to expand peacefully. I do not want any enemies among my trade partners.
-Continue to trade with the African nations, lower prices so to allow a greater volume of trade.
-Build a fort on the island of Socotra where five hundred soldiers will be placed.
-Navy is to guard the trade that goes on.

A man wiped the sweat from his brow. He had been working hard all day. It was necessary in order to help his land. This was expected of all peasants in the Japanese empire. They had to work to help the nation when the nation had hit hard times. Hopefully they would help the nation’s economy rebound. If this didn’t work it was uncertain what would. The nation had just spent a lot of money to bring in trade from Yaomoto. This would help the economy over time as well. These were all good things in the mind of the peasant. It brought him joy, for the peasants of Japan worked to keep the Emperor of Japan powerful and wealthy, if he was they were. His fortune was their fortune. This motivated the people of Japan to work very hard constantly. They would always strive to give the best possible.

The court of the Japanese Emperor was as always beautiful. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The world was beautiful splotches of pinks and browns. It was a grandiose place many centuries old and still very beautiful. It was untouched by enemy hands and no diplomat from any nation had entered here before. It was here that the great Japanese empire’s actions were planned, and it was here that the far Eastern World would see its newest alliance planned.

In the great garden of the Emperor his scribe wrote as he dictated:

“To Yaomoto:

Our homelands are both on the Japanese archipelago. We also now have worked together in the past in coordinating our military efforts. I say that there is no reason we should remain potential enemies any longer. We shall become allied! It is our destiny! Do you agree?”

This message was sent to the capital of Yaomoto. It was a declaration that would soon bring the world its newest and possibly greatest alliance.

In the Japanese capital a great deal of work was being done on the newest ship works of Japan. It would build the newest of ships and a great deal of them. They would cause Japan to once again be a grand sea power. This would take time but it was certain to happen. Now Japan was rebuilding, but it would be rebuilt faster than would normally be expected, for Japan was resistance.

The Zulu expansion north is halted by the discovery of many new tribes and peoples. All welcome these powerful people from the south with skepticism and awe as the Zulu cultural achievements are well known throughout sub-Saharan Africa.

Sinhala expands it’s trading empire to Africa, consolidating the accidental gains they made there and contacting inland tribes. On the island of Socotra the military garrison gets a total reworking making it one of the most fortified cities in the world, following Geystral’s capital. Trade continues to explode in the area, made possible by Sinhala’s merchant fleet, by far the largest in the world. This allows nearly all the economies of West Africa to enjoy unprecedented expansion along with continued growth in Sinhala proper.

The Cossacks continue their war against the Bulgers who flee eastward directly into the lands of the Khazars who in turn run south into Turkish held territories. This mass migration of Barbarian tribes destabilizes the steppes and for the first time every tribe is on the move in some direction. It is during this time that many find out about the wealth that surrounds them in the South: India, to the East: China, and in the West: Europe.

Spain sends it’s armies to Burgundy to try to quell the growing religious movement there. The movement becomes more and more violent as the Burgundians see the combined Frankish and Spanish armies as mortal enemies of their new religion. Throughout the Spanish army a massive feeling of anti-Christianity has spread as they feel it is Spain’s destiny to stop out these “Christian rebels” and carry the torch of Christian opposition. The Frankish armies begin to march against the Burgundians and slaughter all in the area. All of Spain rejoices at this killing of Christians, save one region. The Visigoths, already fearing for their religion see the wave of Anti-Christian attitudes that have spread through Spain as a threat to their freedom. Many begin to flee to Rome but the other more die hard individuals begin to prepare for civil war…

A new leader ascends the throne in Axum. Many hope that the new leader is up to the tasks of the future. The threat from the Arabians across the sea and the expansion of Ethiopia in the south are all causes for concern for the crown.

The Arabs finally unite their country and take their Jihad to the rest of the mideast. Following the resistance of Jewish tribes to Islamic Arab rule the Arabs launch an attack of Judea and despite fierce fighting and bitter resistance the Arabs succeed in taking the nation in short order. However all resistance is not quelled and pockets of rebels remain. Not stopping in their Crusade the Arabs take their offensive to the Sasanian Empire. Against the disunities of that Empire the Arabians advance rapidly as many of the local leaders in the Sasanian Empire defect to join the cause of Islam.

The Huns totally outflank combined Greco-Roman armies and march directly to Constantinople. With most of the Greek army north the weak walls that guard the city are no match for new Hun siege weapons. They take the city and slaughter many of the inhabitants but the Hun commander calls a halt to it before a total massacre ensures. The Bishop of Constantinople, the preeminent Christian leader behind the Pope in Asur (Assyria), sees the writing on the wall and flees to Rome where he reestablishes his Church. Roman armies continue to fight but they are demoralized by the capture of their allies capital. In Central Europe the Huns are able to totally capture all of Germany with the help of the Burgundian rebels in Bavaria. The Huns have promised them a nation in exchange for help in falling the German Kingdom, and that they did.

The Franks, also taking advantage of the Hun threat, attack their longtime friends in the Netherlands. The new king of the Franks, Clovis argues that the Netherlands are dominated by heathens and need to be delivered from evil and brought into civilization, weather they like it or not. England views this action with suspicion but are unwilling to engage a fellow Christian nation in war over pagans.

Ethiopia finishes it’s war with Oromo with relatively few losses. The Ethiopians natural ability to war in mountains aided them in the dry deserts of East Africa. Their location now gives them a good local for East Indian trade.

China and Tibet end their war as it produced little gain for either side and many casualties in the rugged desert.

Peace is finally achieved in America. However it is yet to be seen how the Canadians and Honduras will cooperate following their victory.

In Southeast Asia navies have returned to ports and soldiers have begun to dig in and take respite as no major action has been taken by either side. Each side is gracious for the break in hostilities and the leaders of Geystral, Vietnam and the Pacific alliance are rumored to be in peace talks. The former Alliance O’ Fudge Package is no more, but the hostilities that raged between their subjects has subsided, for the moment.

The Vandals invade Corsica and Sicily. Realizing the weakness of the Sicilians, and hoping to consolidate their nation before the power of Spain descends on them, the Vandals have chosen to plunder the wealth of that island Kingdom. Most of the trade between the western and eastern Mediterranean kingdoms flowed though Sicily so it is a tempting target to the Vandals who desire all the booty they can get their hands on.

Trade
Geystral - Vietnam (2/3)
Spain - Berbers (2/3), Norway (0/3), Sweden (0/3), Finland (0/3)
Sinhala - Magdah (2/3), Satavahanihara (1/3), Arabia (1/3), Gupta (1/3)

The Japanese army was lined up in its entirety on the Korean Border. The solders were lined up in neat and serene rows. You would never guess that something was afoot. They each wore uniforms that were mostly red. At the head of each row was a man wearing a great red plume. Many of these rows, often about 4 of them, were grouped under the command of a man wearing Blue armor and having a blue plume. The commanders had no set armor color, but they all had golden plume. Acting as the grand guards of the Commanders were some specially trained warriors, known as Samurai. They wore their commander’s colors and carried specially forged blades, heated to extremely high temperature so that they could be made of a special iron stronger and more malleable than any other. (Plume=I don’t know what else to call the hat decorations they had, think Samurai).

It was time to teach the resistant Koreans a lesson that they wouldn’t forget. The countryside would be turned bloody with the cold hard swords of Japan. They would feel the burning fury of the Japanese empire!!!!!!(yes, its been a while since iv conquered any NPCS ;)) They had been disagreeing with the Japanese for a very long time, and it hadn’t been forgotten. The new leader of Mongolia had agreed that it would be fine for Japan to show their anger to Korea. It would be a blood bath.
One of these solders was talking with his neighbors. The Japanese were of nearly equal numbers as the Koreans, and they were much better trained. The Japanese troops were sure to win in Korea.
The capital city of Japan, Tokyo, was bustling as usual. The streets were full of people selling goods and buying goods. The streets smelled of a mix of exotic spices and animal dung. Pigs ran around some of the streets as their owners chased after them. Every once in a while there is a rare horse that cruises by. It was a typical day, except for the important officials marching through the market.
Their boots clicked loudly on the stone road as they walked. The peasants moved as far out of the way as possible. They were holding a scroll of paper in each of their hands. Undoubtedly heading for a grand meeting with the emperor. They passed through the market into the noble section of town. Here all of the diplomats and rich folk of the city lived. Most everyone here was incredibly well off, one of the richest of the people in the whole empire. They passed old mansions, surrounded by beautiful rock gardens. These homes were a testimate to the long standing nature of Japan.
They approached the huge emperor’s palace. It was again surrounded by beautiful gardens. Reputed to be the most beautiful in the world. It had a huge building that was incredible to look at. The center was a great circular home for the Emperor. Surrounding that was a grand Garden, with 15 artificial waterfalls. After that were various buildings serving different governmental functions. One of these was the Japanese royal military Planning headquarters.
In the Japanese royal military planning headquarters a great undertaking was occurring. The Japanese officers were telling the emperor about the new troops they just equipped.

There were four main types of troops in the current military:

Basic Sword equipped infantry- These are infantry men with a sword. They are supreme warriors, getting in close and killing with deadly effect. They have specially forged Japanese blades that allow them to slice through their enemies. They are able to hold up the enemies and allow the other types of solders to easily mop up the enemies.

Archers- Long range attackers who are efficiently able to eliminate their enemies. When used in combination with the Sword infantry to occupy the enemy forces they are incredibly effective. The enemies don’t stand a chance.

Advanced Spearmen- These are leftovers from the Classical age. They are still very useful. They have an extremely long spear and specialize in attacking cavalry. They are also very good at protecting Swordsmen from behind a wall of shields. Another tactic still in use from the Classical age.

Horsemen- The horsemen are the troops used when we are in need of a quick assault of the enemies. We captured a few horses from the Mongols and have been breeding and training them. Now we have many skilled riders in our army. They are usually equipped with a spear and also a sword for if they are dismounted. The horses are rare for any country besides Mongolia. Our enemies will never expect to see these in use.

Samurai- The incredibly elite troops of the military. They can best any troops in the known world in fighting. They have the rarest of forged blades that are viewed as indestructible. They have been trained in the arts of fighting since birth, and their families are often members of a secret order known as the order of the Samurai. It is currently fleshing out its codes of servitude to the Emperor and his commanders. They are enough to push Japanese troops toward victory even when they are outnumbered. Soon they will build a reputation that shall be feared throughout Asia.

The Japanese empire had many plans. It would create a strong core group of allies in North East Asia. It would then work to achieve supremacy in the pacific region. Unfortunately for Korea the first step of the plan to achieve the great Japanese Empire was to destroy the vile annoyance that was Korea. Nothing would stand in the way of the grand designs of Japan.

A letter was written to the leader of Yamato from the leader of Japan. It read:

Please do not fear about this latest military attack. We are angered by the Korean sneak attack years ago in our darkest hour. It will not happen again! We will make sure of it! But you of course have nothing to fear. You have been our most steadfast allies. We will make sure that you remain safe and strong. Greatest Wishes.

The great Japanese ship works was coming along stronger by the day. Soon it would be cranking out many ships that would assure Japanese dominance in the North Pacific. The entire nation of Japan was now moving like clockwork. The emperor demanded that everyone work as hard as possible at this time to make sure that Japan is able to achieve greatness. It was time for Japan to rise to its rightful position of power. It would occur now. No one would stop its rise.
The emperor sat in his throne room contemplating all of this. His Samurai guards stood like statues next to him. He could not wait. It would not be long before his domain would grow. He had gained the respect of the strongest fighting force in the world, the Mongols, and soon he would gain the respect of the world. Respect was something that he enjoyed, and something he fought for.

Orders:
-Upgrade military to Barbarian age
-creat UU Samurai
-attack Korea with all of my army, which is based in Manchuria now

Axum was in poor shape. It's armies were still using old iron technology and they were undermanned. Ethiopia threatened from the south and the Arabs threatened from across the Red Sea. If Axum fell, so would a major bastion of Christianity, and likewise, the advance of Christianity would falter. It was time to bring up Axum and get it ready for troublesome times.

ORDERS:
Upgrade army to Classical age, then to Barbarian Age.

The Mongolian Empire

The Mongolian army had massed at the Mongolian, Tibet boarder awaiting their leaders final words before they marched into enemy territory. High upon his horse surrounded by the greatest horsemen in all of Asia as his faithful bodyguards. He raises his shinning blade. A deafening silence fills the air, and he begins to speak.

“Mongols today is a day for victory. You will not find better men than the men that are standing before me today. We are Mongolian men! Today we march into the enemies’ homeland and in the enemies’ grips you will remain until we reach the sea. Nothing can stop us.

Now go my men! Prepare for battle. Victory is in sight for this land will be ours and rulers will shutter at the mention of Mongolia.”

After the final preparations were made the Mongols formed their lines and set forth into Tibetan territory. Only after an hour of marching did they meet the Tibetan army.

The ground trembled with every step the troops made. The rhythmic beat became louder and louder as the Mongols approached. Fear filled the faces of every Tibetan solders, many trembled, some tried to hide their tears. The generals tried to inspire their troops, shouting and waving their banner, but it was no use.

Soon the pounding became unbearable, the Mongols were less than 300 yards away. The Imperial emblem on their shield could be clearly seen. A symphony of horns cut through the air like a knife though water. The thunder of thousands of horses roared. The inadequately supplied Tibetan army doesn’t stand a chance.

Tales of Sigi Continued

http://liawww.epfl.ch/~sarunas/Sion/images/34%20Trireme%20with%20an%20engine.jpg

The port happened to be the best part of the town. Here there were markets from as far as Arabia selling goods to the rich, the only ones able to buy international goods. There were rows of ships, tied to the stone harbor like horses to a pole. I was able to spot the Sinhalese ship that would take be to Socotra easily, as the Sinhalese flag was hoisted high into the air. The ship itself was not a bad looking, being quite large and able to hold much of my possessions. Once boarded, I greeted the man who would take me all the way to Socotra, his name was Singli. He said that he has sailed the way to Socotra over a dozen times, and that there was nothing to worry about. Truth was that I was not worried, but my face probably said otherwise.

The sun hung in the sky as if it were doing so to spite us. I was helping the crew row the ship through the treacherous ocean currents; the sun was baking my back. This was hard work; I had never known how much labor it took to row a ship. It took nearly three months for the ship to finally reach the port of Agra – the largest port in the Indian Ocean.

Rightfully so, too, it was very densely populated from the moment I stepped off of the trireme. The dock here was made of wood – the only dock in the world to be made of wood – that was attached to the coast by an intricate system of ropes and iron. Fierce storms rarely battered the coast of the island, which made it such a popular place for yearlong trade and was also the reason the dock could be made of wood. Paying Singli, I felt secured that he would move my stuff to the nearest inn, where I would stay for the next few weeks.

A day into my stay on Socotra I noticed a few things – the sky was forever blue, the air forever dry, and the streets forever busy. One could not go ten feet without bumping into another market – not one foot without bumping into a merchant. It was definitely a sight to see, this city. It was made of mostly stone, which is the only natural resource in abundance here on this island. The streets were lined with cobblestones so to make the wagon rides smoother and cut down on the amount of accidents, which would create traffic in the dense city. The faint mutter sound of people is forever audible, creating a sensation of publicity.

Agra was by far the largest city on Socotra. In fact, it was the only city, as ordered by the high parliament in Anuradhapura so to not strain the resources of this small island and to preserve the natural beauty. Besides the city, there was a huge fort that housed the barracks and command center of the Sinhalese army that was based on the island. A friend that I met years ago was sent off here to be a part of the garrison, and so I decided to perhaps meet with him.

http://www.kfranklin.com/images/Desert_Trail.jpg

The road outside the walled city was strenuous, the hot ground burnt my feet (I had ruined my shoes the day before by stepping in a hole of mud on an unpaved street) and there were constant stops by soldiers to ask whom I was and why I was on the trail. After passing three guards, the fourth one told me to return to the city, in which case I did.

The city of Agra did not have much else then the markets. There were no historical monuments to visit, no extreme temples, not even a watchtower. The city soon grew to a bore, and I decided on taking the trip to Arabia. The next day I left Socotra.

ORDERS
- Obtain my trade economy (1 econ)
- Pay 2 economies for the lease of the port in Mwenemutapa & send 50 guards there.
- Make new UU- Merchant Vessel: a ship that can go much further but only for trade, and can carry a much higher load.
- Continue to expand a little from the colony, not making any enemies. Base 200 soldiers there.
- 500 Soldier son Socotra
- The rest of my soldiers will be dispersed in my empire.
- Navy to guard the trade.

Said swored to his father that when he passes away Said will take his place as bringer of Islam. His first orders were to change his country name! It was no longer Arabia but the Islamic Empire!

After rushing a peace with the sassanid empire the Islamic armies turned northward. Into Assyria.
Assyria was the house of another religion, a religion that was against Islam. Said could not let it go. He commanded the invasion himself not befor leaving 1 Hair.

Right from the Rivers that ones were under Sassanid empire rule the armies marched into Assyria. A call for Jihad against Assyria came over all lands.

In Judea jews were stopped to be killed. They were counted as the people of the book, the people that know all of the bible. They begun to get some kind of respect from Islam.

In Assyria the armies attacked from all sides. The call for Jihad called upon many new fanatic fighters and the armies were being trained to fight more well. The armies stormed in 3 ways. One was a small attack to take as many lands from the south while the assyrians fight the main army... the army that went into the capital.

"The Christian people leader, the pope cannot live in Muslim teritories anymore! I call upon all Muslims in Assyria and the Islamic empire to go against Assyria and join the ranks of the Islamic armies! You will be trained and sent to bring and free more lands to Islam! For Alla!

Canada finishes it’s wonder in Toronto. This pledge of vengeance to the people induces a huge military expansion both in the naval and army forces. The Canadian King then uses this new power to send his troops on an expedition into the peaceful Inuit tribes to annex those areas.

The new Christian leader of Axum rapidly improves the quality and training of his armed forces making his army the most dangerous in East Africa. While small, they have a willingness to fight that is rivaled only by the Arabian Bedouins.

Mongolia again takes advantage of it’s overwhelming military superiority by unleashing a brutal attack on nearby Tibet. The Mongolian horsemen are able to defeat the Tibetan army in the first battles on the steppes until the Tibetans realize the Mongolian limitations and retreat to the Tibetan Plateau, where the rugged terrain makes the superior Mongolian tactics nearly irrelevant.

The Zulu Empire uses it’s overwhelming strength in the Sub Saharan region to try and intimidate it’s neighbors into submission. Many of the newer tribes resent the advanced people from the south for feeling that they are inherently superior to the lesser advanced tribes. As such many of the nations not allied to the Zulu already begin to develop closer ties with one another for fear of a Zulu attack against them all.

The Cossacks continue on their aggressive policy of expansion by attacking the Russian tribes with the Finns from the north. The Cossacks are able to make impressive gains before the assorted tribes decide to unite behind a strong leader that could lead them to victory against the invaders.

Honduras begins the first concerted effort at cartography in the American world. Their maps are able to nearly accurately portray the world from the Caribbean up to the Canadian coastline.

The Arabs continue their crusade for Islam only against a different target. Signing peace with the Sasanian Empire they turn their focus north against the Christian powerhouse of Assyria. Claiming it is a Jihad against an outdated religion the Caliphate, is able to muster many recruits to fight against the Pope in Asur. Likewise the Pope is able to put a call out to fight against the infidels that are invading a Christian stronghold. Troops have been dispatched by Armenia to help their Christian neighbors.

The Hun Kingdom collapses! Following the death of Attila there was no ruler strong enough to keep the Huns united and continue their domination of the local tribes and Kingdoms. As such the Hun menace has disappeared as quickly as it appeared. In east Europe many previously oppressed people have risen to take control of their own kingdoms and dramatically alter the landscape of the region. Likewise the Roman and Greek Kingdoms both are destabilized by the flow of refugees from eastern Europe and decide to unite following the union of Churches and governmental institutions. The new Byzantine Empire spans from Constantinople and Greece to Rome. Overall religious and political authority rests in Constantinople, however the Bishop there has receding power due to the Pope’s call in Asur for a crusade against Islam.

Anti Christian attitudes flare in Spain. Across the Spanish Empire the reports of Burgundian diplomats spurning Spanish ambassadors creates rage against Christians and it is taken out on the Visigoths and the Spanish Christians. Mobs loot Christian shops and burn Churches. The new Bishop of the Byzantine Empire in Constantinople is able to devote a small amount of time to the problem considering the lurking danger in the Mideast. He does however put out a call to Christians to convert the heathen Spanish. This action puts the most powerful Empire of the Western Mediterranean and Christendom on a collision course.

Japan, acting with the approval of the Mongols to the west, invades Korea. Streaming across the Yalu river the Japanese armies are rapidly engaged by the main body of the Korean people. The poorly equipped army is routed by the Japanese and falls back to defend the capital of Seoul. The Japanese army runs amuck across North Korea, ransacking and looting the area following their victory. Han China protests this action vehemently and ponders intervention. The only thing preventing them is the Mongol attack on Tibet.

The Vandals are able to complete their conquest of Sicily and following that the Lybian providence of Sicily succeeds from the crown to avoid overthrow by the Vandals an proclaims a Tripolian state.

In Southeast Asia peace returns as a cease fire, but no official treaty is signed by the warring alliances. Borders are held for now with upcoming negotiations about territorial reparations to be discussed once the leaders can be assembled.

Islam invaded Assyria, the nearest christian post.
The invasion went as planns, southern lands were taken and victories were reported.

The training of the army befor the war helped a lot to the armies to gain victories over the Christian kingdom of Assyria.

But alone the Islammic forces might not win... Maybe an ally is needed...

The wars were over. The period of Cossack history that was almost continously at war was over. The Armenians, Huns, Bulgers, and Russians had all sued for peace or been partitioned whole among thier neighbors. The Cossack Kingdom had double-quadrupled from its former size, as well as gaining important cities and rivers.
Now a period of building and relative peace would begin, where the gains that had been made could be exploited and incorporated fully. And where the people could be happy and live the life of a well-fed Spaniard, Franc, or Byzantine. Cossacks would now raise its status to be among the worlds superpowers. The plans where in motion.
