I was definately going to buy it anyway. The new conquest scenarios look really interesting and it's nice to have new ways of winning.

I'm going to buy it but sadly I can't use it until I get a new computer as the game requries more RAM then my computer has. BTW anyone willing to lend me $400, I promise to pay you back in about ten years:D

You are only minimally impressed?! It's not just the Conquests/scenarios but the main game has 7 new civs, something like ten new resources, new core game units (I asked how many on the Firaxis chat thread and I'm stilling waiting), fixed bugs, better multiplayer, and HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE THIS GAME?! I might be a bad features list writer but go to the comprehensive survey thread or CIV3.COM

Listen to the beta testers, BomberEscort! Oh yeah and I have a question Padma: When do they get you the betas, how do they inform you that you are going to be a beta tester, and does the beta contain just four conquests like some of the reviewers got or is it the entire game?

I would tend to believe the beta testers more if just once I heard them speak out against something in conquests. I remember PTW and how it was prasied. I hope your right about Conquests. BTW, I don't consider new civs anything special. My only criteria is for 'new enhancements' (e.g.- new traits, new resources, etc.) if I can do it with the editor, I don't consider that new for conquests. I want new options, new flags, etc...

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the new editor which the designers say that made the Conquests with, so just buy the game and apologize to Sid Meier for ever questioning!

I did upgrade my computer when i moved to PTW, and will definetely do when i get Conquest :D

I really hope this is in fact the best and is in fact the last. Because milking customers for money with expansion after expansion as has been the trend lately among game publishers is really piracy. Grrrrrrrr!

Expansions are perfectly alright as long as the original was a finished product and the expansion is also a finished product. Neither Civ3 vanilla nor PTW can be considered finished products. What Firaxis has been doing over the last few years is completely tasteless and I really really hope that Conquests will make everything the way it should have been from the start.

OTOH they could just recognize that market release is just a part of today's game development process. Games take far too long to develop by relatively small teams now, they need community support. The development cycle continues after release and through several expansions, but they charge us serious money for waiting while they develop their game and don't listen to our input nearly enough.
