View Full Version : How can I resize units???
Lynx-Eyed Sep 21, 2003, 06:13 AM Is it possible to resize units I downloaded from civfanatics? How can I do this? It's just because I think it looks a bit strange when you have two jetfighters which should have the same size in real life and one of them is about three times bigger in the game.
Yoda Power Sep 21, 2003, 06:19 AM I think you can resize units with SSB
Krayzeenbk Sep 21, 2003, 06:30 AM Export them from flicster, load them into photoshop/psp, resize, mess with palettes, get them back into a storyboard, create a new flc.
Kryten Sep 21, 2003, 06:34 AM Yoda has once again beaten me to the post. :D
Yes, Steph's SBB utility (which is capable of far more than just making multi-figure units) is the best way to resize units if you simply use the 'alone' option, as well as 're-positioning' any units that are off-centre, and it can be found here:-

And this is what it looks like (and is very simple to use).....

Lynx-Eyed Sep 26, 2003, 01:30 PM Thanks for the help. I've downloaded the SBB and will try it out this weekend, because I didn't had time during the week.
Rhye Sep 26, 2003, 06:46 PM Uh, it's easy now with SSB
I had hard times when I resized Conquistador, do you remember, Kryten?
Lynx-Eyed Sep 27, 2003, 06:53 AM Okay, I just tried to resize an unit, but there are some things I still don't understand. I resized the storyboard with the SBB, but now I don't know how to get this new storyboard back into a flc. What do I have to do?
Steph Sep 27, 2003, 08:00 AM You need to create a new storyboard with flicster, and give it the final dimension.
Then you change the size with SBB, and you replace the new PCX with the once increased with SBB.
One more thing : SBB produces true color bmp, so don't forget to apply the previous palette to it.
Exampel with a 50x40 animation that you want to increase by 10%:
- Open the FLC with Flicster, export to pcx.
- Open PCX with SBB, multifigure, alone formation, change size factor to 110%. You get a bmp
- In flicster, create a new animation, with frame size = 55x44
- In PSP open the bmp, apply the palette (old PCX), and save as a PCX, overwritting the new one.
- In flicster, open the FXM that was created with the new PCX, it should now have the increased size animation in place of the empty background
- Export to FLC.
