I'm using the same spec as in my last Emperor game - Ottomans, huge wet warm 5 billions year map with 8 other rivals. Here is may little world at 10AD:

Note: By giving away all my ancient techs to Babylon and Persia (free of charge), I gained all 3 first level middle age tech for free.:) I'm currently searching for Theology. Need to get to Education soon so that I can build university and start focusing on research.

I played a little bit tonight and got to 540 AD. It wasn't too bad so far.:)
