I only have time for GOTM. I do try to play some qsc practice type game first on similar settings, but don't get very far with these.
I would like to play some more but don't get round to it. If there was a viable rival game I might be tempted, but I don't think there is. Completely random games are less appealing as it is so interesing to compare with others.

An interesting question. For me it is between one and two random per GOTM, counting the mid-month medal games in the GOTM category. The ratio which would best describe it is 2:3 (3 random per 2 GOTM).

I looked at the poll. Is the left side GOTM, or regular games?

I voted 1:1.

The GOTM if I finish it fill most of my month. I add a SG or two to be able to get more game experience while only having to play 1/6th of the turns. Since I limit myself to 2 SGs I guess its more like 1 : 2/6.;)

Lee, I think the number on the left is GOTM and the number on the right is other games.

I've voted 1:1, not because I like random maps, but because I :love: cracker's maps and wouldn't want to miss any due to not having enough time to play.

Like many others, I voted 1:0. I'm barely able to carve out enough time to participate in GOTM (and Medal Series), and I value playing a shared game and the exchange of information and strategies too much to use some of that time in playing on random maps.

When playing a GOTM, its 1:1.

The sad part is that my last full GOTM (20?) burnt me out and I have barely been back to Civ since then. (It seems to be limited to looking at a starting position thinking about it a bit and walking away.)

Used to be 1:0 for the same reasons as most of us... TIME!

Lately, I've been caught in some SGs, so the ratio would have to change I guess. But then, it will change again to a very high number as soon as I get myself fired for not working anymore... :eek:
