View Full Version : Basic City Gfx .pcx question
Ozymandias Oct 24, 2003, 04:35 PM I have a number of "primitive" graphics sw packages (MGI Photosuite; Kodak) that can handle .pcxs. I'm hoping that I can simply load, e.g., one city gfx .pcx, cut out one era of cities, and paste it into another city gfx .pcx, save it and call it a day. Will this work or am I being hopelessly optimistic?
Thanks,
Oz
Yoda Power Oct 24, 2003, 04:45 PM I dont know about MGI Photosuite; Kodak, but its easy to do with Paint Shop Pro, if you cant figure it out, I can do it for you:)
warpstorm Oct 24, 2003, 05:33 PM It is fairly easy to do with most graphics packages.
Ozymandias Oct 24, 2003, 07:04 PM Yoda, Warpstorm,
It's just the "usual" palette nonsense I fear (recall I'm the self-proclaimed "graphics ignoramus").
I guess I'll just try it and see what happens -- then, friend Yoda, you might indeed be hearing from me :D .
Thanks,
Oz
warpstorm Oct 24, 2003, 07:37 PM If you are cutting and pasting images around in the same file (say city from one era) you shouldn't need to worry about 'palette nonsense'. It does get tricky moving from one image to another.
Believe it or not, I was also a "graphics ignoramus", before making my mod.

 Then there's -- *gasp* -- hope for me yet ...

I'm speaking of cutting from one city.pcx and pasting directly into another city.pcx ... ?
Many Thanks,
Oz

thx! :)
mrtn Oct 25, 2003, 06:04 PM If it doesn't work (I fear you might get problem with the transparency colours (magenta and green, most of the time)), you can always post what you have and I or someone else can save it with a correct palette. :)
Throw me a pm in that case, or something. ;)
