View Full Version : Where to buy CTP2
Ivan the Kulak Oct 31, 2003, 11:09 AM I would really like to play CTP2, it's the only game of the Civ series (yes, I know, it's not really Civ) that I haven't had the chance to play with. Usually by this time it should be out as a $10 jewel case game somewhere, but I haven't seen it anywhere. Amazon and ebay are only offering used 3rd party copies. Anyone know where this can be gotten new?
Yoda Power Oct 31, 2003, 11:12 AM Dont we have a CTP forum for this kinda stuff:hmm:
Ivan the Kulak Oct 31, 2003, 04:19 PM Yes, and now it's here. But who ever looks in here? :(
Immortal Wombat Oct 31, 2003, 09:28 PM CtP2 players from Apolyton, about once a week. :)
You might want to try BestBuy for a new copy, but the BBC reported in their article about the source code that it isn't for sale new any more. We had a quick go at tracking some down, but I don't know. Is getting it second-hand a major problem? You can probably get for less than $10.
Ivan the Kulak Nov 03, 2003, 01:41 PM I have a Best Buy where I live, had them search, none in the store, none in the chain inventory either as far as they know. Other stores say the same. I don't want to do that 3rd party business online, I'm paranoid about putting CC info out, plus you really don't know what you are going to get. Though, if a CivFanatics member wanted to sell me a copy I could send them a money order on trust, I suppose.
Martin Gühmann Nov 04, 2003, 02:03 PM Well it is difficuilt to say something about different countries. I know that the German version can be bought in a best/nice/or whatever buy as a CD only version.

Locutus Nov 05, 2003, 03:25 PM It'd be best to ask CtP2 related problems at apolyton.net, where there are actually people to see them :)
You can still buy CtP2 online at Chips&Bits: http://www.chipsbits.com/cgi-bin/order.cbi_home?source=84161&add=CIVICP2.IR
Which is also an official Apolyton sponsor. It's a bit expensive though.
I just ordered 2 copies of the game from a Dutch online store for just €4.99 (for a friend), so it's definitely still out there, and cheap. This store only ships in the Netherlands though, so that doesn't help you.
But just google for "Call to Power 2". I did a quick search and found several sites, but most American sites seem to be selling it for about $20 :hmm: I found one cheaper one though: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/gamesvortex/calltopower2.html ($13.20). There may be other (cheaper) ones...
Ivan the Kulak Nov 07, 2003, 12:26 PM Thanks for the links, Locutus. I'll check them out.
Matrix Nov 07, 2003, 06:23 PM I've edited the title, hope you don't mind. "Off Topic: CTP2" looked rather silly here. :crazyeye:
bernhj Nov 30, 2003, 12:10 PM Yes I have also been looking for a CTP that is not used. The problem is Micro Center won't get it in for another week.
sourboy Mar 21, 2004, 01:26 PM I too have been looking, no one seems to have it anymore.
What a crock.
People keeping bringing up adding a space age mod in the customization forums of civ3, and others keep saying 'go play ctp2' if you want that - but its not available!
