Does anyone have a good site for SMAC mods?
I bought the game last year and didn't enjoy it. I pulled it out again this year and remember why I didn't like it. Its a very lame reason...
You can't see the roads clearly...
Hills make the graphics unclear sometimes... and I end up taking a wrong turn and using up movement points I didn't intend to use.
Did anyone do a fantasy mod or a civ mod of SMAC? Despite the graphics it appears that the AI is better than civ2 (though I am sure I must be missing something).

i now what u mean, it is pretty boring with only two types of terrain (rocky and flat/rolling) and the hills makes it alot harder to see what happens on the north side of the hill, but i have few complaints about the ai diplomacy.
btw: no i dont know about any SMAC mods, but u can flatten terrain in smac if u want to

The "goto" command-holding down your mouse on the destination- is much more powerful in AC, your units aren't as stupid and a yellow line shows their intended path. If you use that more often, they'll follow the roads on their own.

There is only one mod here, and I think it can be found at the Network Node too, but I'm not sure.
Just don't cram up there all at one time, the guy is getting complaints of heavy traffic :D
Or at least he was a month ago ;)

well, the tc is about to be released - the german version - the english version ist not completely translated yet. but you'll get the latest info by reading the status reports. in there i'll post any news about it.
btw, i LOVE star trek. that's one of the reasons why i'm creating such a total conversion :scan:
