I think you need to give us a bit more information:

- What version of Civ3 are you playing?

- Which two files did you install?

- How did you install them?

- Which save file did you download?

- Is there any error message when it crashes?

- Are you entering a new era at 290AD? Or have you just learned a new tech that makes a new unit available to you?

Dear Alan,

1.system is w2k + latest patch from microsoft.
original civ 3 + patch 1.29f, never played gotm before

2. the two files are the full setup for gotm21 and the add on

3. My first installation is wrong as I realised that only need to install the full setup. uninstall everything , and install civ3 ,patch 1.29f, full setup of gotm21, and run the save file that start on 290AD, but still same problem, I only can get out of the problem by not moving units to certain hex. I can send you the save file if you want.

4. all the save file (open, conquest, predator)

5. no error just the civ3 closed itself

6. no new era at 290 AD , already passed and doing invetion research for 3 turn already

also after doing the reinstallation when meeting the spanish diplomat no picture appears

There was some kind of strange bug in GOTM 21 that made the game to freeze. It only appeared in the vanilla version, and then only to some games. So you might want to just drop that gotm, or try it again from the start.

The Spanish diplomacy crash can be fixed by correctly installing the files, as stated in the readme for gotm 21.

Sorry, I should have said welcome to CFC, by the way.

I think the Spanish problem is solved by copying the spain.flc file in Art\Flics\ seven times, and calling the copies spain1.flc, spain2.flc, ..... up to spain7.flc. I don't know if this will solve your crash though.

If you like you can upload the file here using the Upload File link at the bottom of each page. I run Civ3 v1.29 on a Mac, and I played gotm21 to completion, so I know my installation is OK. I will be able to tell you whether the problem is likely to be in the save file or in your installation.

Dear all, it crash cause of the spanish file , it seems that during extracting the spainx.flc is converted to folder instead of files and in each folder there is spain.flc file only so for 7 directory same file. rename each folder as I can't copy the file with the same name of the folder. Everything works now. Thanks again ALANH
