Can you give us the spec of your computer? (windows?, cpu, mobo...) What is the exact version of Dx you tried to install?

DX9, from the Conquests disk?Same thing happened to me, several times. Most of the time it was the joystick.inf file, but one time I got that right after installation. I got tired of trying to install it. I'm playing Conquests on DX8 right now, seems to work fine.
