From what I remember, there was an important sea trade route fr the Red Sea to India. It began during Ptolemaic times and every yr maybe 40 Greek ships would sail to India to trade. But I think you are referring to an even earlier time.
BTW, even if anybody speaks Spanish here, you shldn't be posting in Spanish, otherwise you may get into trouble with the mods cos this is an English language board. ;)

the most ancient (3rd century BC) sea trade route in that area ran between Sumeria (Ur, Eridu, Uruk) through Dilmun on the Iland now Bahrain, through Magon Near the strait of Hormuz, to the iNdus Valley. It involved: grain, pearls, timber, copper, canelian and ivory.

Around 200 AD Indian trade routes in the area went to what is now Yemen, Oman, Bahrain NE Arabia, and several spots along the Iranian coast. At that time the Red sea trade was controled by roman subjects and protectorates.

Ethiopia used to be a maritime power in that region (hard to imagine now, I know).

I'm having a very expanded story about this (trading between China, Rome, Greece and Parthia) on my site. http://www.civilopediacity.com/Betrekkingen_Eurazie_Economisch.html Very unfortunately, that's Dutch. :(
