This is just a graphical request/suggestion for a Zulu cavalry flavor unit. The idea is to put an impi on a horse, take away his shield, and give him a rifle.

But the mount might be more interesting if it looked like this:

Yes, I know it's a quagga (actually it's a horse model with the markings of a quagga). And yes, the quagga is (was, its extinct for now) a zebra variant and therefore undomesticable and (practically) unridable.

All I'm suggesting is a unit with some graphical flair by way of the quagga colouring. So it'll look cool. I mean, hey, it's fictional anyway, so why not make it stand out with a stripey horse?

This is an awsome idea. If someone makes it, It might actually keep me from trading the Zulus for Austrians.

I love this idea like no other. Civilization (the game) is about alternative history and pretty much fictional because you can be the US in 4000BCE. I hope somebody makes such a unit, it would be completely awesome.

I think that the unit should be neutral enough that it could be a quagga, but it could also be a horse with body paint on...

Again, the suggestion is not for a quagga per se. Just a striped equus. That's it. Not a treatise on whether Zulus might have one day bred and rode zebras. Nope. Just a striped horsey.

Ok... it's just as well... a man riding into battle on a zebra would give the distinct, and unflattering impression of a jailbird Sancho Panza.
