OK here is a new version that plays quite a bit different than version 9.1. Ill try to list as many changes from the first version as I can remember but otherwise the rules are the same as version 9.1. IF you did not play WW2 Pacific Conquest 9.1 you will need to check the rules on that thread first as some are the same carried over.....thx....

***TANKS***upgraded to be more useful but cost more

***JET FIGHTERS***much stronger defenders-better range

***CIVIL DEFENSE*** now builds a flak unit every 14 turns

***FORTRESS STRONGER***represents enforced bunkers-trench

***BARRICADE STRONGER***represents mine fields-barbed wire

***MILITARY ACADEMY*** produces 1 marine every 2 turns

***FIGHTER BOMBER***stronger -lethal land or sea

***HEAVY BOMBER***better range-no carrier landings

***HEAVY BOMBER***Collateral damage-----cost higher-----

***TECHS***some units tied to different techs

***TECHS***research slower and NO TECH TRADING

***MARINES-COMBAT ENGINEER-slighty stronger-cost higher

***BARRACKS***machine gun every 6 turns(was 5)

***NIPPONESE INFANTRY***amphibious-helps Japans early war

***BUG FIX***Netherlands can now be played (Japan still non-playable and enhanced)

***AI LOGIC***AI is stronger-better build logic-gets auto-units to use

I will post anything else I come across as I continue to play this one, Remember this is conquest victory and will BE HARDER than the regular game and is for EXP. players.

dreadknought,

This really looks interesting!

Have you considered to modify The Order of Battle
later on?

Hi, I hadnt but if I do a new version I might. I may work on a version with the Japanese as the human choice with some enhancements kept in for them so they would have better chance if there seems to interest in it. It takes me several games to get the ai like I wont it and test things out.

To anyone who hasnt-----try the Chinese in this version----oh its crazy but fun....

UPDATE: At some point when I can I may do a Victory point Version of this but would like to know what side people would most like to play in that version and any other game comments......thx....dreadknought

MOST CURRENT UPDATE------Im in a very long scenario game at the moment and have no future updates ready at the moment but am open to suggestion.I do have a few more AI enhancements to add in a future version but it will be a few weeks from now. I would still like to do my own victory point version but it will take a while to study how it would work and to make sure the AI is strong. Thanks for all the downloads.

Cool, That sounds good as I like to make the game hard to beat. I take it you finished the whole game.
I will keep those cities in mind if I do a victory point version. I would probaly have a few in each country and am leaning toward playing the Japanese in it.

Let me know if you win at the higher levels(though I play monarch to most of the time). Oh ,who did you play with?

I have some more tricks up my sleeve to improve the ai based on some new ideas.

I looked a little at your version of this scenario, but then I realised that in order to compare I had to try the old version as well. :) One thing I was a little confused about, however, was that it seemed that some units without any drop animation had the airdrop ability. They really appeared just out of thin air. :)

EDIT: Two features I miss in the original scenario, which you could put in, are:
1. Destroyers should only be able to transport foot units.
2. Retain culture on capture should be enabled, otherwise borders are re-set and large cities have starvation problems after changing hands - even back to the original owners!

Thx for the suggestions, in the event I do another version I will certainly address those issues.

As to air-drops , yes I added this ability to certain units to help the ai (infantry) which simulates added mobility and added it to a lesser degree to the human player. It just spices things up a bit and keeps you off guard with the ai and saves you a little time moving your infantry around. It also makes those units more worth building as the game goes on.

Hi, There is no change in the overall appearance of units-maps-terrain- in this scenario being that it is a modded version of the original ww2 pacific conquest. It plays harder and some units function somewhat differently but I dont see a need for screenshots on this......

thx.....dreadknought

Hi, I noticed close to 500 downloads of this which was great and hope it was fun. I dont plan anymore updates of these in the near future but I wont say never. I did make a couple of small balance changes but thats it. I am working on a project that will be fun though. :)

I had no idea you created this mod. In my TOS scenario I did the
following:

"since the AI is terrible at planning and executing
invasions, the scenario starts with the Japanese already ashore at
key locations such as Rabaul and the Phillipines. Also the USS Arizona
and Oklahoma have already been sunk and so were removed. This makes for
a challenging little game to play as the US or Commonwealth."
