3 ships: Bismark and its 2 cruiser escorts, Prinz Eugen, and the ... duh, (it starts with an "S"). I don't even know if the 2 cruisers were of the same class.

No, the Bismarck was planned to be used with her sister Tirpitz, the Prinz Eugen and the (never completed) carrier Graf Zeppelin. Such a task force would have been the death of the RN, but it never happened. Only Bismarck and Prinz Eugen launched in the Operation Rheinübung, which let to the best known sea battles of ww2...
