Please choose one of the options listed below to be the basic structure of the Executive Branch as defined in Article D of the Demogame 4 Constitution ~

Status Quo - President, VP, six council members (and deputies) in charge of each of the six departments (Domestic, Trade, Military, Foreign Affairs, Culture, & Science).

Council of Three - President, VP, three council members (and deputies): Internal Affairs (Domestic, Culture), Foreign Affairs (Foreign Affairs & Military), and Trade & Technology.

Council of Four - President, VP, four council members (and deputies): Internal Affairs (Domestic, Culture), Foreign Affairs, Military, and Trade & Technology.

Parliament - single election with highest vote-getter becoming President and the various offices are divided amongst the various runners-up.

Councils Cubed - President, VP and three councils of three members each: Domestic Dept (Domestic, Science & Cuture), Foreign Affairs Dept (Foreign Affairs & Trade) and Defense Dept (Military).

Thie winning option of this poll will not be the wording for Article "D", but the content will be used for the structure of the Branch.

This poll will remain open for 7 days.
Disussion can be found right here. (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?threadid=68493&perpage=20&display=&pagenumber=1)

This poll may require a run-off poll to ensure everyone's happy with the outcome.

For example, a majority of people may not desire the "Parliament" or "Councils Cubed" options, but that majority may be divided amongst the three more traditional options available. This split may allow either the Parliament or Councils Cubed option to receive the most votes, yet not be consistent with the wishes of the majority.

I would strongly recommend that a "majority" be required to resolve this issue. Therefore, if no majority is achieved, we should poll the top two vote getters in a run-off poll.

For the record, I voted for the Council of Four, primarily because it removes what I consider two positions that have very little to do (Culture & Science).

First off, we've already had several discussions about eliminating the Culture Dept because that office has nothing to do, so this plan accomplishes that. Secondly, at the difficulty levels we will likely be playing, most of our Technology will be acquired through Trade, so there is little for the Science Leader to do.

I was not sure what to go with. Status Quo, Council of Three, or Council of Four. So I chose Status Quo. But I will be happy if CoT or CoF would win :).

I voted Council of Four. It makes the most sense to abolish the Culture and the Science ministries, which have very little to do, by combining them with other offices.

After much thought, I voted for Council of Four. I am doing so in the hopes that we can give more power to the Legislative Branch in regards to worker actions, control of the science slider, and city build queues.

I voted Four. Lumping Science and Trade together is a very good idea and will drastically reduce stress on some things. Putting Dom and Culture (who we have basically agreed is kinda useless in some games) together is also good. The best points there, IMO, is keeping Military and FA their own beasts. It would be too strong an office to have one person yield power over both troops and external relations. Keeping them separate leads to balance (and makes sure that the officie I like to run for in the start isnt bogged down with troops)

I too voted for the Council of Four. This is essentially the structure of the CFC MSDG team, and it has worked well for as a government.

Voted Council of Four. Re Oct_X

As usual, I haven't got anything to add that hasn't already been said.

(but I gotta keep my post count up somehow)

I agree with Boots.
Council of Four seems like the way to go.
