View Full Version : Updated animated leaderhead : King Arthur
R8XFT Nov 30, 2003, 11:16 AM I've taken an old leaderhead from linkb, which I downloaded months ago from this board. The animation, though really nice, had the flic file a little out of synch with the game, ie, Arthur looked happy when he was meant to be annoyed. I've re-mixed part of the flc file to put this right, done a simple mirror to it to create the forward/backward flcs required.
There was not a full set of pcxs available in the original, so I've put that right here.
This is a single-era only, but would suit a medieval scenario, or (if I dare mention it) Yoda's MEM (which is excellent IMHO.)
Remember, I'm not the genius here, linkb is. It's his/her creation; I've merely given it a home and some TLC!

Yoda Power Nov 30, 2003, 12:04 PM Please post the file and preview;)
R8XFT Dec 09, 2003, 03:16 PM Now this leaderhead is available in all eras. The flcs are static though in the eras other than the middle ages, as I can't do animated flcs at the moment. I realise that my artwork isn't by any means great, and that this leaderhead comes complete with a dodgy hairstyle in the modern era.
I've included an updated AR_all file to cover the various ages, but this is yet to be properly playtested. I think it's generally ok, but might have some minor pallette probs.
By the way, the backdrops for the eras all come from Wonder Splashes that I've downloaded from this site, so thanks to those who posted them and I hope you don't mind me using them in this way.
Here is the flcs file (you'll need the files in the first post as well) :

Here's the updated Arthur_all file:

Now do you see what I mean about that dodgy hairstyle?
Edit 10th Dec: Updated the Arthur_all file to fix some minor problems with the pallette.
zulu9812 Dec 09, 2003, 03:43 PM thanks very much! :D
tjedge1 Dec 09, 2003, 03:59 PM I don't use static leaderheads, but you mentioned the middle ages wasn't static so this will be perfect for me since I only play ancient, fantasy or medivial mods anyways. :goodjob:

I'm interested in this LH in order to use it as Emperor Otto of Germany in my Dark Ages scenario but, the anims don't work well. They're too fast. Isn't possible correct them?
The Black Glove Aug 13, 2004, 10:01 AM Great leaderhead keep up the good work :goodjob:
R8XFT Aug 13, 2004, 10:04 AM Sorry, double post  .
R8XFT Aug 13, 2004, 10:05 AM This came from the days before I had Poser and scraped a living doing pcxs for other Poser users ;) . As such, I did the Ancient, Industrial and Modern as static images and the Medieval was done by linkb (who doesn't frequent Civfanatics anymore :( ) as a moving version. I re-mixed the Medieval one as well as I could with Animation Shop 3; I don't think I could improve it. I don't have the Poser model, so I can't fix it I'm afraid.
Hikaro Takayama Aug 15, 2004, 08:37 AM To get the proper speed in Animation Shop three, load the animation, go to to the "Edit" menu and chose "Select all Frames." Then go to the "Animation" menu, and select "Frame Properties." The first tab of the frame properties popup menu is the timeing tab, and where it says "Duration(D) (1/100 Sec)" enter 2 into the box and click "Ok." That should fix any speed problems you have, since the original Firaxis Flics are set at that speed. :)
I found this out while editing my Garnet LH animations, which are done, and I'll post them when I have a means of getting them to my internet computer.
R8XFT Aug 15, 2004, 02:16 PM Thanks, Hikaro, I did that when I tried to edit this creation, but the problem was that the animation had originally been set up incorrectly; ie, it should go from happy in frame 1, through to neutral in frame 61, and finally angry in frame 121; it wasn't set up like that though.
Please note that had this been my own model, I could have sorted it out, but working with animation shop pro, I couldn't - the right frames hadn't been created in the first place.
On a more positive note, I'm now finishing off my version of Uther Pendragon, which should be an adequate replacement for this leaderhead.
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 15, 2004, 02:24 PM I'm glad that you decided to make your own version of this guy R8XFT..long live the :king:
