Has anyone played this before? I just bought it and its very promising, if you have it then cntact me on AIM at Emperor Amirsan and maybe we can share strategies and stuff.

This topic does not fit in any of the "Other Games" forums. And there is almost no one there.

This should go in Other Games and there have even been MTW SGs. It is a great game combines Turn based games and RTS games.

I played it at a friends house, it was OK. Since I wasn't actually playing, but watching, I was a little lost, so I can't really comment definetely on how good it was.

Its a very good game :) Just look at my sig for the old MTW SGs that we ran, sadly in the end there was just not enough demand for them, but we did manage to play quite a ew games.

I think we should wait for Rome:Total War since people are losing interest in Medieval: Total War but I hope Viking Invasion Succesion Game comes back.

Look at your sig? Forget the sig look at his avatar!

MTW is an awesome game especially with the Viking Invasion expansion. There are plenty of mods out there that can spice it up if you find it too easy or want a change.

Don't have AIM, but if you go to Clan Berserk (http://shogun.cafe24.com/medieval/) they have an excellent unit comparison tool or join TotalWar.org (http://www.totalwar.org/) there is plenty of great info.

PM me if you want to try talking other than AIM

That means waiting till 2004 to play it... We could restart the succession game but it needs people to show that they are interested in playing again, and also deciding whether to play one of the mods instead...

I like Rise of Rome better, more tactics available. Guns are only... "fire away!" when it comes to the limit of what you can do on the battlefield on MTW...

are there guns in it?

Very primitive ones. The game runs from 1089 to 1453.

There are several useful gunpowder siege weapons, and a large machine gun type weapon, the organ gun.

Amen to that. I wont even consider sacking a castle until I have a few cannons to work with.

Something about swords-spears v. brick/concrete masonry doesn't sound promising.

/Sorry for bumping an old topic, it's not on page 2, atleast. :P

I bought Total War a few years back and it never came with a manual.
I have no idea which key to hit to save screenshots.
Does anybody out there know which key will save screenshots?

F2, I think. It saves them into the "TGAs" folder, and in the .TGA format. You'll have to find a program that can convert/use it.

Look up on your keyboard, does it have a "Scrn shot" key? "Print Scrn" maybe?

Hit that, open up an image program like Microsoft Paint, go to EDIT, then PASTE.

Download a program from this forum other civ3 creation and customization>Utility programs, the program name is screenshot assistant, whenever you want to take screens turn on the program and then hit the Screen kwey on your keyboard, it will save it under the folder directory of the program.

This way you can press the screen button as many times you want while having the program on.

For the benefit of those who might have such questions again, the MTW built in screenshot function is F2, which will take a tga screenshot.

Also, Activision did make available a pdf copy of the manual.
