I'm doing research in school on the Mafia and was wondering if anyone has any good websites about the history, leaders, crimes, ect. of the mob from its begining to present day or if anyone knows some of their history straight off the top of their heads. Also any books would be great.
Thanks

Borrow some good movies. Like the Godfather I, Goodfellows, Casino etc, etc and just make the rest up.

The history channel did a great miniseries on the history of organized crime that covered the Italian Mafia, Colombian cartels, Russian, Indian, and Chinese syndicates. Unfortunately, I don't think they covered the Irish, Jewish, or Yakuza gangs much. You might be able to buy it from their website.

I'm lead to believe one of the Mafia leaders was brought out of Jail to be used as a contact person during the invasion of Scilly, Luciano I believe. I'm not sure what happened to him after it was over though.

i think hes really looking into the true mafia, those are all pretty much fiction.
beggin your search in the medici family of italy, when the word took off, and then perhaps the 1920s and the prohibition, up to todays drug empires.
