Ok, first of all, this would be my first succeson game, so it's up to you out there, to (help me) decide(ing) what civ, difficulty, landmasses, clima, etc... It is in C3C!
But I have a idea that I want to play. You may know the 'crazy celts succesion game', it's somewhere in this forum. My idea is similar, but I want to make it more roughly.
The one that plays has to follow some sort of motto. Before he starts to play he has to throw cubes to look what way he has to play. ( I hope you understand.... ;))

Example: Player x gets to play. He throws a cube and gets the number 1, then a 5, followed by a 3 and a 5. This means he has to play (look chart)!

1: expansionistic (militaristic) (expand by all means!)
2: seafaring (expansionistic) (discover the world)
3: commercial (money, money, money)
4: industrial (build the infrastructure!)
5: agricultural (Our civ has to grow, grow, grow)
6: scientific (knowledge is our treasure)

after this, he has to throw again some other cubes:

I.
1,3,5: religious (get to spread our religion, no foreign citizens in our cities; nothin better comoes to my mind)
2,4,6: atheistic

II.
1,3,5: isolationistic (in diplomacy, we give nothing to other civs, every enemy unit in our borders has to get thrown out, or if he/she doesn't want attacked)
2,4,6: world citizen (open to all sorts of contracts, etc)

III.
1: monarchy
2: feudalism
3: republic
4: communism
5: democracy
6: fascism

Note: If a government isn't reasearched, take the next related in this order. (group one: fascism, monarchy, feudalism, despotism; group 2: democracy, republic, feudalism, despotism; group 3: communism, feudalism, despotism). It has to be revolted even when we have the sam governemt already. The revolt shows that a new governor hat the power.
I'm not sure about the last one?

--> Our player would now have to play expansionistic, religious, isolationistic and with a republic. Seems funny, not? and maybe a bit utopical, but that's what it makes so interesting!

As civilization I would recommend something religious (because we have to revolt all the time). Agricultural would perhaps be good, (if we have to revolt to fascism all the time).

personally I would like to play with Austria (not possible because not religious) or Switzerland (not possible, because not in the game). So I list here the possible civs (with religious):
Spain --> Seafaring (depends on map, it will be with lot of water, so good, but like militaristic, these would be a favour too good for militarists, assuming we play on archipelago)
Babylon --> Scientific (why not? we might get a bit behind by revolting all the time and these frequent changing of the way we play...)
Celts --> Agricultural (If we get fascism quite a lot, this would help)
Egypt --> Industrial (why not? It helps all the time and is not 'bad' for us in this situation)
Arabs --> Expansionistic (depends on map size, landmasses, because the last one will be continents or archipelago (i want archi) I would say better not)
India --> commercial (helps out (a bit) with science and it's good for the corruption issue (since it's not fixed)
Japan --> militaristic (hmm, the militaristics will have it enough easy (comment of hooray, so no)

---> I would propose Babylon, Celts or India. For a good timed golden age, India (latest uu) might be best? What are your thoughts?

I would also like to have a historical chronic of what you do (instead of memphis war, starts gran ...) Like the crazy celts :)
We could use the 6 aristocracial families (the first 6 traits) to tell the story of the land with the 6 enemy families which fight a bloody war through the centuries.

I hope some will want to join. I'm open for suggests.

EDIT: Perhaps we could play with that roaster in one of the conquests? (midle age, sengoku, the two meso's).

Heh, sounds a lot like HRY2 (or is that the game you're referring to? It did have the Celts).

Just a word of advice: Don't do a pangaea map! The expansionist/militaristic guys will just take over everything too quickly.

Since I am a noob...i gots some questions (if someone can answer em)

1. How do you get a picture in your profile (Like the one Hooray has)?!

2. How do you take a save pic of your game ( I want to know so I can show you the empire we have and some tactics to use).

I guess I'll delurk to answer your questions quick.

1. You can't have a custom picture like Hooray or myself until you've achieved 300 posts. You can use one from the large collection on the site before that though.

2. Hit the "Print Scrn" button in the upper right hand portion of your keyboard. Open up paint or any other paint-like application and paste it into there. Save it as a .jpeg. Then, come to the forums, and look near the bottom right for the link to upload a file. Click on that, upload it, and then look at the uploads folder it's now in. Now just copy the shortcut, and include it in your post via the "add hyperlink" option.

Hope this helps!

hehe, welcome :) if you don't understand it, feel free to question, gunnerxtr, i cannot try to explain, if I don't know what's not clear. :)

So, I'll summarize:

ville and gunnextr are interested, but cannot play because of too much other sg's.
hooray and many others (views?) are lurking this thread.
cizzlewalk and my stupidness (:)) !

Shall we delay it till later? It doesn't make sense to start with 2... :) And if we restart it later, some more might be interested (please?)

awwww man.... :wallbash:

I was really looking forward to a succession game too! It's too bad guys like Sulla can get people easily for his games, but us new SG playersto get any attention!
:shotgun: :aargh:

Well Mitsho, your thread your rules, it's up to you to keep this game going or not! I wouldn't mind a REGULAR succession game if you wouldn't mind. So I'm just neutral on this subject.

P.S. lol for the screen shot...again...I am in the game and I press 'pring screen'...NOTHING HAPPENS, then I open paint and then press screen again...NOTHING HAPPENS...god why is this happening?! [punch]

heh heh.... :slay:

Guess what barbslinger...just after I posted to gunnerxtr I found that thread in the forum :sniper:

I do feel quite foolhardy after that miss, oh well, not like I offended anyone? err....

Well I think I'll keep my questions and comments to myself until I can get into a SG or when asked somethine (unlikely), but I do plan to prove myself as a moderate player by posting a story game I plan to start very soon (I've started production of the game...not very complicated so I might begin soon :D). Thanks for pointing that out though barbslinger. At least someone is reading this thread.

so, cizzlewalk, you write a lot in this thread, a lot of spam? Please stop a bit (or press the button edit ;)).

The Idea of doint this style of playing in a conquest came also to me. I think it would be great playing one of the 'christian' nations in the middle age scenario. ?

But unless nobody else is interested in such a game, I can't do anything else than waiting. And this is what I'll do now.

Please join!

Ya sorry about the 'spam', in last thread I would say I would calm it down. I'm just looking for answers in the wrong place, but np about waiting fo this game to work. Do you think, in any case, you might make a christian game scenario sometime soon?

mitsho
Dec 13, 2003, 12:41 PM
Why won't YOU make it?

Ok, I'm open to it? Do you talk of the middle age scenario? taking over (f.e) burgund (what's it in english? the middle one!). Why they? Because they have my home city (although in a compleete wrong place.... :))

Well err... I'm still not that sure someone would focus on my game since I'm too new... and yes I'm talking about the middle ages scenario and any civ 'christian or what not' is fine with me.

Do you know, that this is my first SG, too? So this is no ewxcuse, try it, and you'll suceed! So, would you agree on plaing byzanz in the middle age scenario. either with normal play style, or with a changing style like I suggested in this thread:
There are 6 parties in Bycantium (How do we write it in English?):
-the aristorcratists: The Empire shall come back to gloria, not with military, with culture
-the christians: (conquer the non-christian nations (everything in the north)
-the romans: they want to rebuild the roman-empire: (conquer all around the meditterranean
-scientists: clear?
-the blue: In Bycanz were to fangroups in the population of the two circus-clubs (horse-races, etc). They were constantly fighting each other. To simulate this, each city has a favour. If you are blue, you favour all cities on the left side of bycanz.
-the green: other way round, you favour every city right of bycanz.

What you think, It's just a very rash thought!

Well I did read the post about this being your first succession game...but you're offering a game that is totally different and intriguing (that's why I wanted to play it). I would only make a regular regent/monarch SG, and nobody wants one of those!

Also, they are the Byzantines. For our game I think an aristocratic or christian victory sounds good (green and blue sounds more like the split between rome and byzantines). I tried playing middle ages scenario w/ byzantines first and didn't do that well : /, but perhaps we can win this.

I gave it some thought...AND FINE...I'll make a new SG game involving the return of Byzantine power. Mitsho, I would be very honored if you would be one of the first players to help me with this game! Hopefully, we should get a better turn out.

to this game, I have one last suggestion:
1--2-3--4--5--6
left right

left means peaceful, socialistic. (building up the cities, etc)
right means conquer the world.
