View Full Version : Civ3 Scenarios help!?...
bulletsponge Oct 29, 2001, 08:45 PM Im also interested in doing scenarios, but doing one all by myself seems like quite a bit of work, If civFanatics has mod teams or such, id like to know...and I do have 2 ideas for Scenario deals that Ive never seen one done on with Civ2...hehe...Ive done some reserch on these already, but I suck at art stuff, and It looks like so will everyone else when it comes to making 3rd animation for custom units..lol...If anyone would like to contact me about this, msn=yakopepper@hotmail.com or AIM=yakopepper...thanks...
Morten Blaabjerg Oct 29, 2001, 08:56 PM Maybe you should reveal a few details on those ideas, bullet.. ;)
There's no "mod teams" at Civfanatics, AFAIK, but people have been known to work together. Bebro for instance, has been very productive and supplying high quality graphics work for other creators civ2 scens.
I hear many of the "old" scen makers say, that they're not so hot for Civ3, but to me, it is doubly exciting, because I was really never with Civ2 from the beginning. Now I get to influence the way Civ3 will be tweaked. Thats a little exciting. But, alas, it will at least be a couple of weeks before I can buy it. And I probably will, despite what I've said before, and despite my lousy economy.

Well, I dunno if i wanna...atleast not yet...I will say one thing, Ive serched for scenarios like them, never found any...They would be historical...as I hate anything not...lol...I think I can do all the reserch, but its the art I know i cant do...Im hoping that we will see some decent units coming out in the near future...

Well ,about the graphics ,how does bebro himself think about sprite creating? I hope there is some way to borrow sprite's from other games like AOE or sort's.I think sprite creating will be a lot more difficult than 2d drawings.
Morten Blaabjerg Oct 29, 2001, 09:21 PM I suppose so. It'll be even harder to time a new unit animation with any sound you might want to put in there too. But you don't need sprites. From what I heard, it is easy to use civ2 style non-animated units, instead of the animated units.

Morten Blaabjerg Oct 30, 2001, 12:05 PM Hi Henrik :)
But I just had a major let-down; I was told there's no events scripting in Civ3... :(
I was expecting an improvement of Civ2's, but no. Nothing. Not even a limited one.
