It's my understanding that a permanent solution to documenting the GOTM's games and information is in the works. In the meantime, I'm posting this unofficial thread to create a set of links to some of the threads where GOTM features are discussed. I'll add a few more links to great Civ3 articles. My intention is to allow easy access to information that will help newcomers get up to speed quickly on the GOTM, and provide a reference to the more experienced GOTM'er. Happy civving!

NOAIPatrol Flag setting (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=103616) C3C's default setting for this flag makes Barbs stay in camp and keeps the AI from patroling around. Not a requirement for COTM, but many player's have agreed to set this flag to allow barbs and the AI to patrol.

i think it will help if the difficulty of each game is included in the description. i sometimes will come to this list to look for a 'similar' previous gotm before i start a new gotm. difficulty is the single most important parameter.

Is there any way to access GOTM14's save? I wanna see how well I could play it. The link says "Error 101, File Not Found' With a shocked foreign advisor when I click on it.

To conserve Server space, the links are currently only valid for games played since January 2004. For older games, please contact a member of staff, giving an email address where you can receive a copy from our archives

That means saves older than GOTM 38 and COTM 07 are not available online. If the five year old archive CDs are still readable I may be able to provide specific ones on request.

Sorry to ask a potentially idiotic question, but what is the difference between COTM and GOTM? I can't find an explanation in the commonly used abbreviations thread. (I also saw a reference to a CGOTM above!)

COTM is played in "C"onquests.

The "regular" GOTM is played in the Play The World game.
