I'm thinking of doing a Great War scenario but could use a little help. My general knowledge of it's not all that great so whilst I'm doing some catching up I'd appreciate a little help. :) Basically I'm looking for whom people think would be best as leaders for the following countries. Oh and their titles.

'Cause some of it gets a little confusing. You've got France and Italy doing the Prime Minister shuffle practically every year - plus France's splt PM/President thing, who's actually pulling the strings e.g. Germany - Kaiser or Chancellor. And then there's the question of whether it should be the figure-head Monarch or
politicians. Fun! :D

I'm looking for mainly who was the leader at the outbreak of the war, although historical accuracy can be modified if they got booted out almost straight away and another person was leader for the vast majority of the war.

US - Woodrow Wilson
Britain - Lloyd George
Germany
France

Russia - Nicholas II
Austro-Hungarians
Italy
Ottoman Empire

Portugal
Spain
Belgium
Netherlands
Denmark
Norway
Sweden

Greece
Romania
Bulgaria
Serbia

I know germany's leader: Kaiser William(the II?). Also, about the chancellor/kaiser thing, it depends. The only time(I think) during the existence of monarchy in germany/prussia that the chancellor was more important than the kaiser was with Bismarck.

U.S.A - President Woodrow Wilson
Britain - Prime Minister Lloyd George
Germany - Kaiser Wilhelm II
France - President Poincaré
Russia - Tsar Nikolai II
Austro-Hungarians - Emperor Franz-Josef
Italy - Prime Minister Glioliti
Ottoman Empire - Sultan? Hammid II
Portugal - King Manoel
Spain - King Alfonso VIII
Belgium - Prime Minister Broqueville
Netherlands- Prime Minister Linden
Denmark - King Christian XI
Norway - King Haakon
Sweden - King Gustav V
Greece - King George I
Romania - King Ferdinand
Bulgaria - Prince Alexander
Serbia - King Peter
Switzerland - President Hoff
Albania - Prince William (I believe so)

Well there's a complete list.. I had found that on some website and I had recorded the names down and saved them on notepad.

There is a really good scenario by Marla_Singer for WWI but it's a very very long and big download. The rest of them aren't to realistic but still fun to play. Good luck :)

Looks pretty good although I think I'll use Aeldrik's map (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?threadid=65155) since that allows me to use North America and North Africa going into the Middle East. :)

Yeah, I would include the Middle East. Altough those battles were not as big, they were still interesting.

Re: Germany: During the later part of the war, effective power in Germany has held neither by the Kaiser nor the Chancellor, but by Field Marshall Hindenburg and General Ludendorff in what was effectively a military dictatorship. Hindenburg was the popular and charismatic front figure, Ludendorff the brain; a case could be made for either as Leaderhead.

Additionally, I'd like to express some surprise at the sudden popularity of WWI scenarios. There used to be pretty much none around, and now they shoot from the ground like mushroom!

I don't think so. Not if this scenario starts at the outbreak of war. If this were about the last six months, I'd say you were right.

Bethman-Hollweg was the Chancellor of Germany at the beginning of the war. In many ways Germany was democratic, but ultimately power did lie with the Kaiser, but he didn't really have control of day-to-day events.

Asquith was the British PM at the beginning of the war, I believe
