Well I am a bit dissapointed about the "editor"
All you can do is edit the rules and create a map.

There is no way to add cities or units to scenario :(

U r sure? - This is very very bad.

I AM REALLY ANNOYED AT FIRAXIS: THEY PROMISED US!!!!!

TF how about a petition everyone can post in saying how annoyed they are about not being able to make scenarios at all and then we can send it off to firaxis and try to make them make such a thing.

NO SCENARIOS

I think im going to cry......

Duuuude...chill.
This is the way the computer game industry works now. Release the base game (include Multiplayer if game is dependent upon it). Release MP at later date. Release scenarios. Package them all together and sell. So you basically have four computer games to sell instead of one. More games = more $$$

Remember: THEY DID THE EXACT SAME THING WITH CIV2.

To be honest, I'd rather them release a "naked" version of CIV3 now instead of waiting 6 months for them to get all the goodies attached to it.

And dude, "petition"? No one takes internet petitions seriously, nor should they. The Scenario Editor IS coming. You must have patience.

THEY DIDNT DO THE SAME THING WITH CIV2
ALl they did it with was the macros and that was because it was a new idea. We dont have macros or the ability to place anything on maps.

btw the way you could create scens in civ2 without fw was to edit the rules.txt and other files and to use the cheat kode: no such thing in civ3.

AND I WONT CHILL: THEY TOLD US THEY WANTED TO EB FRIENDLY TO US PEOPLE WHO MAKE STUFF

SID YOU BETRAYED US FOR YOUR OWN POCKET

Cool it, graeme. I'm really a bit disappointed too, but read my post in the "severe limitations" thread, and you'll see that they're really intent on supporting the mod makers, and expanding on the editors in the future. Their big screwup was not to say anything openly about it. I had that thought, that they really were not finished, when Jeff Morris said that "these editors are not final"... and that they'd rely on the mod makers to know where their efforts were best spent.

Had they been reading all those suggestions threads thru the past year, they'd know the answer to that one. Scripting, controlling AI, flexibility, access to graphics, and an allround capable editor to set up the scens.

This is very very disappointing to say the least. I had been looking fw to playing well-made player-made scenarios after finishing with my norm SP games. Guess will have to wait some time if ever for a real scenario creator to appear.

getting mailing "the c3 team",

I'm off to do it now!!!:goodjob:
