It's a fantastic unit as always Utah. I'm just wondering where to put it since there already are more than enough Roman flavor units (I blame Xen). Probably a Byzantine swordsman or something.

I have an interesting idea for you. How about a Mayan catapult flavor unit, a hornet bomber. Apparently they had soldiers throw hornets nests at their enemies.

Umm . . . I don't know where to put it. I just made it because I thought that it looked cool when Xen requested it and no one else was making it. :) I have it in my personal mod as a flavor unit for the medieval infantry unit.

As for the "hornet hurler," I'm working on a little unit project of my own right now. After that, I'm not sure what I'll be doing by way of unit creation.

Ah well when you're done with the project you're working on, maybe you could consider giving the hornet hurler a shot.

@aaminion00- there are to few Roman flavor units- brbros units, if you liek them, can only be used for the ancient era, I'm looking to expand Roman might all the way into modern times ;)

as such, use the unit for what he was- a heavy trooper of the Empire, and replace the medieval infantry with him, perhaps make him a bit more expensive to build, and give another point of defence as well ;)

But compared to some civs.. the Romans have a good ammount of units. I like the idea for the hornet bomber.. I'd like to see such a unit.

I'm going to put it in my "more unique civs mod" if one ever gets made. It will be a stand alone UU for the Myans.

Hey Utah,
Thanks for this.
But is it usable in Civ III 1.29 ?
How to apply it in Civ III/art/units/legionary file?

How to apply it in Civ III/art/units/legionary file? You can use units in all versions of civ. There are some good torturials in the torturial forum:)

This unit is great, I've never seen nothing so good retrtacting a heavy infantry unit. Very good.
I've already seen and downloaded a unit with a funny name that is the Aztec Musketeer. Don't you think it's stupid that the Musketman is the first Gunpowder unit in the game, it should be a Arquebusier or an Gunpowder Pikeman not a Musketman, the musket is much more weightless.

:thanx: for reading my reply post :goodjob:

Didn't see this unit before when I was searching for some, fantastic! Utah, out of curiosity, what spearman unit is that? I haven't seen that one before and have been looking for a Roman flavour spearman (I requested a Triarii unit about a week ago but the one in the screenshot would be just fine). Do you have a link?
