Got it. I'm going to start posting, that way I know when you put up a new one without having to figure it out. I actually got this one two hours ago and it's already played and sent.

Is it fun being Persia?

DogBoy

It's ok. The immortals are obsolete so they really aren't different much from the other civs now.

I meant more in terms of no expansion left, no wars etc.. just some thumb twiddling waiting for the war outcome? ;)

DogBoy

It's ok I guess. Nothing really exciting. Not many hard choices to make. Load game, change production, fortify myself and waiting for that attack ;) hoping it never comes.

Expect attacks from the Dutch, not the peaceful Celts ;)

I don't trust anybody in this game. I have been following the thread and it seems as if a lot of people broke treaties, provoked fights, etc...

Hey now! The Persians and Dutch have always stayed true to each other for many thousands of years! Never have two different civilizations held a truer and more trustworthy (and profitable) partnership. Do not heed the serpent whisperings of the sly Celts who will not rest until their Civilization stands upon the bones of ours!

I am going out of town Saturday afternoon and will be back Sunday evening. Times are east coast USA. Have a good weekend.

BTW, the last save I d/l from here was 2 days ago.

Sorry, had to format my puter, back up and running :)

Btw - strictly off game: There has been a lot of stuff going on with the Persians, Dutch, and Inka apparently, but nothing much has really ever happened over here until the Dutch declared war.. which sure made this game a lot more fun for me :)

I think you meant Mayan instead of the Inca, but I'm not sure. Either way, it does look like it was exciting quite a few turns back.

I would like to say I won this game due to my superior skills as a player both military wise and diplomatically. But the truth is the game has been over for a while, I just filled in. Everybody realized that the game could have gone on for a while but it's hard to fight an industrial war with rails when you have to invade someone else's continent. No matter what you land, you will be counterattacked because all three of us had all kinds of resources. We could have launched some nukes eventually and seen what happened. Or we could have kept going and one of us get a space race. But we all thought that would have been boring. So I built the UN and had a unanimous victory. I wonder if this is the first time a game has been won by diplomacy in a multiplayer game. Thanks for letting me be a part of it guys.

Hey! Thanks for the game guys! I learned a lot. Basically I learned attacking a human opponent is 20 times more frustrating than attacking an AI opponent! (No Duh!)
Most of all, I learned I really, really, REALLY hate Accelerated Production Epic games once you hit the Industrial and Modern ages. The whole balance of the game gets totally out of whack. I don't know how to address the problem of the first turns of a normal production PBEM game being so boring, except maybe if you get a neutral party to set up the map and give each player 2-3 starting settlers.
