I would like to apply for FA deputy in the event that the controversy over the CJ election ends up in me being disqualified from the AJ office. I can't be the deputy while being AJ, so I would appreciate it if you would reserve the deputyship until the controversy is over. Thanks. :)

Sorry to threadjack but boots will get disqualified from being AJ over my dead avatar so to speak.

NOTICE: DEPUTY NEEDED. APPLY WITHIN

I'll apply for deputy. There is a chance that I will have to resign because of winning a Judicial position in the special election, but the chances of that are fairly low.

I'll accept your aplication. Boots is deputy unless he gets judicial.

Da... Da comrade. We are to be having a deputy. Paalikles is the deputy (he voulenteered).

Back to the Daing. We are meeting Mother Russia, my friend. She is lacking our techs and we are lacking hers, but what is to be expected?

I wish to apply for deputy position - oh wait - already got

Sir Paalikles thanks the noble Sir SaaM

I think we should go after BW and CB, as they are quite important to us

I encourage all citizens to make known their opinions on Cathy in this very thread. Go on. Its open. We dont bite.

Are you sure you won't bite? Penguins can be very vicious... :p

The Ministry of Trade and Technology simply wishes to inform that, in a short time, I will post some new discussion involving tech trades with Cathy. :)

I feel that, for the moment, we should regard Cathy as a trading partner, and maintain a degree of cautiousness. If we run into their capital in the near future, we may want to try a gamble by attacking it with our lone elite warrior.

I agree to the first part of what he who censored the stick man of Coventry says, but I think we should use overwhelming force instead. I guess it really depends on how far Russia's core is from our borders though....

Also, it looks like we re doing a good trade - netting 3 techs for 2 techs and some gold :)

Two Ministry of Defense sponsered threads and polls

I wish for the FAs office to partisipate in the following polls and discussion threads.

Military Poll: Unit Quantity (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75905)

Military Discussion: Attack Russia or no? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75904)

Sir SaaM, I ve expressed my opinion in the discussion thread mentioned by the military leader. It is of course not the official opinion of this office, but I would like to hear your opinion on it

Minister,

The sighting of Russian troops brings with it the (slim) risk of an arrogant neighbor, more concerned with short term gain through intimidation and terror than long term prosperity through trade and commerce.

How soon do we need to start evaluating our level of tolerance for these demands? I feel it is too early right now, but don't want to wait too long.

Thanks!

Sir SaaM

I would like to express some concern regarding tomorrow's turnchat
My grandmother, who is turning 85, is having people over for cake, me included, and thus may prevent me from attending the scheduled T/C

I have read your T/C instructions, and I believe are most satisfactory even without our presence, but I would like your opinion on the issue.

Paalikles, Deputy Moron

Sir SaaM,
From what I was informed after managing to attend the turnchat at about 00:00 AM GMT+1, our President had already met the Babylonians 2 turns ago, and not halted the turnchat

As deputy, I do not wish to decide upon a possible CC, as the President clearly has not abliged to the instructions posted by the Ministry. I will leave this to the FA leader.
For proof, I hereby quote a passage from the T/C:
>[00:04] +Paalikles: how many turns since babs were met?
>[00:04] +plexus: hmm
>[00:04] !Chieftess: 2

Reason given for this: math was to be completed in 2 turns at the time the Babylonians were met

After some discussion, I ve come to the conclusion that the proper procedure should be a CC

EDIT2: After some more discussion, I realize I cannot have an opinion on whether a CC is in order. I do not know the law well enough.

Here is the log: http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/%23turnchat_210104.txt

I ll also leave for you an excerpt of a PCMW with the President:

[00:10] Paalikles: I am writing up a message to SaaM
[00:10] Paalikles: I do not consider it to be a severe fault that the instructions were overlooked for science purposes
[00:10] RikMeleet: ok. I realise I was wrong. It just passed me by completely.
[00:11] Paalikles: but as far as I understand the rules, it would be proper procedure
[00:12] RikMeleet: yes it is. I've broken a law, so I should be charged.
[00:12] Paalikles: well - I guess I ll have to do it then
[00:13] Paalikles: it is unfortunate though
[00:13] RikMeleet: I'd never think I'd overlook that.
[00:13] RikMeleet: But I have no bad feelings, I committed a crime; I should be trialled.
[00:13] RikMeleet: Poor judiciary.
[00:14] Paalikles: well - compared to the CG investigation, I guess you ll be let of rather easily tho ;)
[00:15] RikMeleet: I can always say I followed instructions; we only met a RED WARRIOR, and that was excluded ;)
[00:16] Paalikles: Make friends and if we meet a new civ (not just the border, or the Red Warrior), stop the chat <--- that wording would make it difficult tho

Paalikles, FA deputy

EDIT: I ve just learned that the babs were indeed red - and this may change things a bit

I am wondering where in our laws the power to call for an end to the chat was given to the FA department. Had this instruction been supported by a poll, it would be different. However, since there was no poll, I see no reason to file a CC.

Hang on
Rik DOES NOT have to be charged
He apologised for getting it wrong
That should be good enough for everyone

Stuck_as_a_Mac
Jan 21, 2004, 06:17 PM
He apologised. I don't blame him for foregting. You had your grandmothers birthday to attend (send her this Head Morons regards) and I got yelled at by a choreographer for ten min. FA was not present and it was an honest mistake. I will NOT be filing charges, because he stopped after the issue was brought up. Now, I'd just like to move on and see what Hammy has to offer for us.

SaaM
Who isnt filing charges

Paalikles
Jan 21, 2004, 06:30 PM
Well - that is a fine descision IMHO

Anyway - over to work:
I ve just taken the liberty to create a discussion thread in the Citizen forum, where I want to hear the people's opinion on foreign relations.

Paalikles, happy that no CC was filed

Dear FA Morons,

How did we meet Babylon? I see no Babylonians on the map. I see a yellow border across the water to the northwest. Has anyone actually seen one of these so-called Babylonians? Are their lands seperated from our by water or can we walk to Babylon?

Paalikles
Jan 26, 2004, 05:23 AM
A good question my boy, a good question indeed.
I have requested maps on exploration by the military leader, as I have lacked the time to analyze the situation myself. So far, I have not seen updated info on this. I dont know if the Head moron knows more though.

I ll try to look into it before turnchat

Deputy Moron

SaaM,

I reckon you have seen the discussion thread and poll I ve put up during these last few days. I think we have received enough opinions to pinpoint how to formulate an official poll. Please make one during these last days of your term in office, so the next leader will not have to worry about how his or her instructions should be. :)

D.M.

Edit: I will not be able to attend any turnchats this week. This is my moving week, as I am placing all my clubs and stone tablets in my new hut by Sunday. (new appartment) Unfortunately, this will also be in a remote location, so communication might be difficult for the nearest weeks. (no broadband till it will be installed)
