TNG Feb 09, 2003, 04:36 PM Once when I was playing a multiplayer game, I checked my Trade advisor and she said "I'm not even supposed to be here Today!" nickmandler Feb 26, 2003, 09:54 PM I have two favorites: the first is when India says: "India welcomes you, Joan d'Arc! Would you like a nice vegetarian curry?" and, from one of the vikings, "Do not tell me that it is raining gold while you pee on me, Joan d'Arc!" How about that? Jason The King Feb 26, 2003, 10:36 PM I have gotten "The AI says: " And then the trade deals, lol. I wasn't sure if it were an actual saying, or a flaw in the game, lol. Jason nickmandler Feb 27, 2003, 10:05 PM I have yet to see either the "9 virgins" or the "all your base" response. Lord Vetinari Mar 01, 2003, 06:05 PM I got Xerxes to say this when i refused his demand for money: "We would normaly go to war with you, but i admire your guts." or something like that  Lord Vetinari Mar 01, 2003, 06:32 PM I saw Lincon saying, asking for peace treaty, " Lets stop pounding each other like bulls in a water closet (toilet)." :rotfl: Civ_Man_89 Mar 09, 2003, 06:49 PM When in times of trouble, run into a wall, bounce back, and run into it again.:D burning_phoneix Mar 25, 2003, 05:34 PM I was just rejected by the furious celts so I said 'never mind' and I get this funny response: "Our bards are making a death chant for you Osman and we will chant it vigourosly. you here me? VIGOUROUSLY!" please excuse my bad spelling Beanzy Mar 25, 2003, 10:32 PM I don't know if anyone has already said this, and, to be honest, I'm too lazy to read the entire thread, so I'll just post it. After asking for a Right of Passage with the Persians, they replied ,"Sure, I'll give you a right of passage -- TO HELL!! I remeber what you did to the Arabs!" (I once had a similar agreement with the Arabs, and used it to raze Baghdad to the ground.) Mullet Crusader Mar 27, 2003, 12:56 AM I believe it was the Ottomans i was dealing with who refused my fair offer, i, frustrated, clicked "Will you accept this deal?" anyway, just ofr the hell of it. "Please make me another offer when you are sober, Brennus." LMAO! Beanzy Mar 27, 2003, 05:49 PM I was at war with the Japanese, and they had only one city left. I decided to try and make peace just to see what they'd give me. I said to them "My troops approach your cities... etc." and they replied "War! Huh -- Good god, ya'll! What is is good for? Absolutely nothing! I'd be happy to make peace with you." :) nickmandler Apr 05, 2003, 06:50 PM I got from Hannibal: "Despite the rumors spread by my enemies, I am not a cannibal. Come closer." NewWaver Apr 05, 2003, 10:59 PM I noticed on a couple occasions that the makers of the game must be huge fans of Kenny Rogers and The Beatles. Mao once said to me in a game, after wanting to make peace, "You've got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them". He must enjoy gambling with his life. :p As for the Beatles, I think it was when I was quitting the game (I can't remember exactly), but it had some lyrics to a Beatles song. That put a smile on my face. :) Reddwarfian Apr 05, 2003, 11:17 PM Originally posted by nickmandler I have two favorites: the first is when India says: "India welcomes you, Joan d'Arc! Beanzy Jun 08, 2003, 05:18 PM Also, moments later, after refusing to give the Romans physics, Caesar responded, "I see. Ahem. Well, if it weren't for the, uh, political climate at Rome, we would be destroying you - utterly." This has probably already been posted, but oh well, I am too lazy to check. Smellincoffee Jul 31, 2003, 10:14 PM I personally love this one: "Greetings! Shall we trade, or would you prefer we go to war until one of us is wiped off the face of the planet?" Tony595 Aug 05, 2003, 10:27 PM i had just finished a war with Japan, left them with two cities. When i requested peace Tokugawa said " War! Huh! Good god y'all . KaDingir Oct 13, 2003, 01:05 PM In a very early game, before I realized that breaking treaties was a no-no, I repeatedly attacked India whenever they tried to plant a city on "my" continent. When I later tried to make a deal with the Greeks, Alexander replied, "After the way you hosed India?!" Cracked me up. Dr Tiny Oct 25, 2003, 12:03 PM Cunobelin (spelling) of the celts seems to have a fascination for his naked warriors. When ever i asked him to leave my territory he would tell me he has informed his naked warriors to leave, or he was sorry that I found their nakedness to be disturbing. After a few turns of this I decimated the naturist with my armour clad army :goodjob: Also on the celts, i accidently asked them for some money and he said he couldnt give me any as the money was earmarked for a religious festival...then he added "bring on the alcohol". :goodjob: Elden Oct 25, 2003, 12:43 PM Originally posted by Dr Tiny Cunobelin (spelling) of the celts The Celt leader in Civ 3 is Brennus. " Looks like a lot like "The Beatles - Revolutions" to me 2) When your citizens are unhappy because of the war: "All We Are Sayin' Is Give Peace A Chance!"
