why do i have to download so many mod packs?

Whats wrong with normal PTW or Conquests?

What do these add on packs do? GOTM 16,17 etc was easy, you loaded the save file and was sorted.

why cant there be a full install every month for new players?

thanks...would like to play GOTM again, but im a bit disapointed at all the mod packs i need to do so, making it harder to restart :(

Well, the reason is that this is not your standard game of Civ! It is more of an experience than a normal game, and it is what makes the Game Of The Month different.

In terms of what these downloads do: They provide you with new Civs to play, new units, new resources and new graphics. It allows Civ3 and Mac players to play games comparable to Play The World.

In the future, we're not sure exactly what format the game will take (its being debated) and a stand-alone mod pack for each game is just one of the options being considered.
