View Full Version : Units for Civ3
immortals84 Jan 04, 2004, 09:41 PM Ive downloaded and added about 40 units to my game, but for some reason I have the urge to create my own, I am an illustrator but never really used computer graphics. Is there a unit creation program and maybe a tutorial for making new units?
Please Help!

immortals84 Jan 04, 2004, 11:10 PM also does anyone have a graphics program to open the pcx files?
Or tell me where to get one\buy one?
Krayzeenbk Jan 04, 2004, 11:12 PM www.jasc.com. This question was recently asked in this forum (scroll down just a bit). To make units, you will need some kind of 3d program and FLICster. FLICster can be found in the utilities forum.
immortals84 Jan 04, 2004, 11:16 PM thanks alot!
Gogf Jan 05, 2004, 05:37 AM Actaully, you don't need a 3D program, as until now none of my units have used one, but it does make it look better, and be easier to make. A great 3d Program is anim8or. It's available at http://www.anim8or.com.
Krayzeenbk Jan 05, 2004, 06:22 AM That is true, you can also do copy/paste, or hand drawn art. My fingers were numb from cold when I was typing that, so I didn't want to go into all the possibilties ;)
Gogf Jan 05, 2004, 03:26 PM BTW, Krazyzeenbk, what 3D program do you use?
immortals84 Jan 06, 2004, 12:30 AM You guys are great! Thanks!
Dom Pedro II Jan 06, 2004, 12:55 AM Also, if you are an illustrator, I'm sure everybody would love to see some concept work too if you'd be willing to share! That's another good way to translate your ideas into reality... inspire another creator :)
