View Full Version : What Civ? (final decision)
Matrix Jan 11, 2004, 07:27 AM I've left out the Civs I thought are most impopulair, but in case I left out your preferred Civ, vote "other" and state which one that is.
I suggest someone will make a second poll when this poll is closed (in 72 hours from posting), with two options: the highest two in this poll. Is that ok? (We could also do a simple majority.)
I have mathematically made an order in the list: the higher it is, the more preference it has based on the two polls of favorite trait(s). I have not paid attention to the unique units!
Exceptions: Carthage & Arabia (listed as #20 & #21 in the rank) are in place of Mongols & Zululand (both #17 along with Rome), because their UU seemed more appealing to me.
Ankka Jan 11, 2004, 11:41 AM I say we should be the Maya. Or Sumeria. They are the two most popular choices now at the UN... But Celts are also a very good choice, their UU is very good.
Emp.Napoleon Jan 11, 2004, 12:18 PM I like the Byzentines since Scientific is a great trait now that there are SGL and their UU is fairly early. Maybe you should do another poll with the ones you left out and have a final vote between the top one of each poll.
Ankka Jan 11, 2004, 01:02 PM The finla poll has to have 3 civs, we need three different choices on who we wanna be. ;)

As long as everyone states which Civ they vote for when voting "other" it doesn't matter. Only the fact that you can't see it in a blink of an eye.
DaveShack Jan 12, 2004, 01:19 AM There are now 7 votes, with 6 different choices and only one has more than one vote.
Matrix Jan 12, 2004, 02:32 AM Another idea: Next poll will include the two Civs with the most votes and if there are too many 'second' Civs we won't be allowed to vote for the same Civ as you voted for in this poll.
Don't worry, I'll think of something determining when this poll is closed, DaveShack. ;)
Cheetah Jan 12, 2004, 04:42 AM Sumeria and Maya looks strong right now :)
Ankka Jan 12, 2004, 09:08 AM I voted for the Maya, they have great traits and their UU is great, we can get free workers. :whipped:
Ankka Jan 12, 2004, 09:09 AM 10 votes, Sumeria and the Maya both have 3 votes.
croxis Jan 12, 2004, 10:03 AM it is inproper to tell the results of a vote before they are compleated ;)
Ankka Jan 12, 2004, 01:34 PM

Ankka Jan 13, 2004, 07:40 AM I didn't. :p
Ankka Jan 13, 2004, 07:42 AM When should we put up a new poll, there are now so many votes that most of the people have voted...
And how shall the new poll be set?
Donovan Zoi Jan 13, 2004, 05:31 PM I think that our next poll should include every civ that received a vote, including the write-in for the Byzantines. The top three from that poll will be our submissions to the UN.
Also, since the deadline for submissions is the 16th(unless its changed), I would like to get the new poll going tonite. Any objections?
Hygro Jan 13, 2004, 07:16 PM no
Ankka Jan 14, 2004, 03:00 AM no. :)
Donovan Zoi Jan 14, 2004, 04:57 AM Actually, I have a better idea. Since the Mayans and Sumerians are somewhat popular choices at the UN, it would be nice to try for these but have a fall-back civ. And I can't think of one better than the Japanese. After all, if we are not going to get the Agricultural trait, then we should make sure to have some Military perks. I know that Civ Duel Zone is going to be a tough team to beat, and I am not sure about the Ladder team but something tells me they might be pretty strong too. Not to mention the teams we already faced in our current ISDG(German Webring, Poly).
So, how about a poll to submit:
Mayans
Sumerians
Japanese
Please let me know and if you agree I will post a yes/no poll for these options. Or if there are no objections to this new plan, please post here and can maybe forget about a new poll altogether and get our submissions in.
Apricorn Jan 14, 2004, 05:54 AM I agree, final poll should include Maya, Sumeria and Japan.
Ankka Jan 14, 2004, 09:15 AM The final poll was already posted by the time you said that. ;)
